Chicago White Sox designated hitter Carl Everett criticized gays, fans, Wrigley Field and other targets during an interview for the July edition of Maxim magazine, the Chicago Tribune said.

About homosexuals, Everett said "Gays being gay is wrong. Two women can't produce a baby, two men can't produce a baby, so it's not how it's supposed to be. ... I don't believe in gay marriages. I don't believe in being gay."

Everett has been one of baseball's more controversial players, most notoriously known for his confrontation with umpire Ron Kulpa in 2000 while playing for the Boston Red Sox.

The White Sox DH also ripped on baseball fans, saying that "Fan is short for fanatic — he's crazy about something he really doesn't know about. And it's proven that 99 percent of baseball fans have no idea what they're watching."


Everett had plenty of other targets during the interview:

Wrigley Field, the worst ballpark: "They need to implode Wrigley."

Jose Canseco is a "bitter, ignorant individual."

The congressional steroid hearings were ludicrous: "We have a war going on — I have family in that war — yet we're talking about steroids. ... If everybody in the world got on steroids, we'll still lose more kids to a war than we will from steroids."

Everything that he said is true except the 99% of baseball fans have no idea what they are watching and the Wrigley Field comment. Canseco is an asshole and gay people do really **** up society. Did he need to go out and say that though, probably not, but hey the media needs to gripe on something right?!?!

If he's coaching HS baseball why did he say his locker is next to Everetts? I knew he was coaching HS baseball a couple of years ago but he may be doing the same for the White Sox now. I'm to lazy to go look.

That was an article from five years ago. Same one from which I took the dinosaur/moon snippet.

I thought Saberhagen was an MLB pitching coach nowadays, too, though. As it turns out, he's coaching at Calabasas High School.

I agree with everything said by Everett except for the part about steriods. I think both the war and steriods are important and are both life-threatning. War is a big deal, but so is putting bad stuff in your body.

So they think there is a vast conspiracy to prove that dinosaurs exsisted? That there is a factory somewhere maufacturing these bones and thousands of people all over the world are digging in the ground to help this conspiracy? Museums, governments, city and state officials would have to be involved. Why wouldn't have one of these people come foward and said something about the conspiracy after finding God or something?

He must be some kind of unofficial, non-paid type coach. I know all of our high school coaches were also teachers who had degrees. I don't think Bret is qualified to teach school.

yep ... the idea of dinosaurs or aliens doesn't co-exist with the theology of the bible in many people's eyes.
