Wow!
People have really been whipped into an anti-Chiefs craze recently. Lamar Hunt is a tinkerer and eccentric. He's doing this as an experiment for the rest of the NFL more than anything else. This fits Lamar to a bill. Sure, he tries to figure ways of making more money - like maybe filling Arrowhead for away games. Who here owns a business and doesn't try to improve it? It's also something he needs to do for the future of this club. If the collective bargaining agreement ever goes down, this club will be in the same position as the Royals - unable to compete. I can understand if you have no interest in going - I don't. But to say this is somehow 'wrong' or corporate greed run amok, or Hunt trying to take advantage of us is just silly. There are no black helicopters at One Arrowhead Drive, turn down the radio and step back into reality. ------------------ 1) Crush your enemies 2) See them driven before you 3) Hear the lamentation of the women |

Let's put it in this light: Lamar Hunt, who lives in Dallas, is at least trying to do something to put KC in the national spotlight and garner national attention and positive press. Which other KC sports team is trying or able to try to do that? What are the other KC politicians doing to try and make KC move towards becoming more of a big time city like the people in St Louis have? In a city that had to wait 7 years to find an owner for the Royals, and then it was an out of towner, what has anyone from KC actually done to try and make us big league? Renovate Kemper? At least Mr Hunt gives a damn and will promote the city, the sports complex, and the fans...

Funny how the only thing I can think of when you guys are moaning about the "free vs $10" cost, is how much I would give just to be in a place where there are more Chiefs fans than there are Panther, Dolphin, Jaguar, Falcon or Cowboy fans. If you live anywhere else but KC, you plop down,at the very minimum, $15 to $20 bucks just to see a game at a local sportsbar, where you are treated to a great deal of abuse when your team plays like they have over the past 3 years.
Being in KC spoils a great many of you as to availability to the Chiefs and everything attached to it. Kurt, I know you view Lamar as a man more concerned with making more money than getting a winner there in Arrowhead, but I think you are wrong. It has to be pretty embarassing watching the trophy named after you being given to everyone else but you. The one thing I will fault Lamar for is being WAY TOO loyal to people, and that rubs off on all who work for him. That is the only reason I can fathom the Stock,Raye, and Kurt still have jobs. mmaddog *********** ------------------ "When you're not the lead dog in the pack, the view is always the same" |

Much to do about nothing. If you don't like the idea, don't go. It does not work for me so I am not going. But, there are lots of others who it does work for. They can go enjoy themselves. Who gives a rats *** about where the money goes. Again, if you don't like it, don't go.

What is going to be very funny (and embarassing) is seeing 50 people watching the jumbotron at kauffman. Because after the Chiefs start the season 1-3 or 0-4, the "NFL's greatest" fans will abandon the team and spend their entertainment dollar in other ways - such as a rodeo.
I cant wait to see that. Maybe that will wake up Lamar Hunt and he will make some drastic changes in this mediocre team. |

Out of all the thousands of Chiefs fans, fifty is the number of people that agree with you, Ken.

Why do you want drastic changes in this team? Are you really a closet Chief fan? |

In light of Ken's latest comments on this issue, I would like to change my initial assessment that very few people would drop the clams to attend. I think they'll sell all 12,000 tickets and break the record now.

Sun,
Very few owners actually own the stadiums their teams play in. I'm no expert on the subject, but the only 2 I can think of are Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder. The outrageous cost of building new stadiums will soon render the stadium-owning owner extinct. ------------------ This is my signature!! There are many like it but this one is mine!! |

What's wrong with Hunt trying to make a little more money?
If you don't want to pay $10 don't go. Some people like to make mountains out of mole hills. |

Packfan,
When the Packers go 0-2 this week any chance that 1/2 cent sales tax is going to pass to refurbish the stadium. Have heard there is a strong possiblility it won't. Guess it is just the Green Bay fans stating they won't put up with a mediocre team. Eh? |

I got tickets to the real game 10 rows up in the endzone for the seattle game. If I didn't I would seriously think about going to this event and just tailgate on my own. Forget about paying 15$ for some picked over food. 26$ for parking and a chance to be on Monday Night Football is pretty intriguing to me and a lot of other fans. If you don't like it don't go though. I could see that someone would want to stay home and see me on TV having fun watching the game.
