Cassel injured - who dunnit?

I'd say the replay clearly indicates Niswanger and McIntosh once again teamed up to suck. This time they suck badly enough to get Cassel injured.

First, the initial pressure is put on Cassel by #90. This is Waters' man. However, Waters can't get to him because Sackintosh/Niswanger get in his way.

Cassel is forced to run because of pressure from #90. After running around, #92 tackles Cassel's knee. Why is #92 running free?

He split a double team attempt by Niswanger and McIntosh.

They suck.

It begins.

And Jamon Meredith in the 5th.

Luigs at center, kick Niswanger out to RG, and Meredith at RT and this line would not be near the disaster it is right now.

Here's what I want to know.

You have an older, decending RG in Goff.
Why, at the snap do the Chiefs have him runnning to the left side of the formation, where he doesn't do anything but stand there like an idiot blocking no one?

Mebane split that double team practically before Niswanger and McIntosh come out of their stances.

Cassel isn't hurt. Its a conspiracy by the evil Obama Administration to point out the need for Universal Health care.

It didn't seem, in slow motion, to be an excessively illegal hit. Just one of those that happens.

I agree the OL still sucks. I do question the OL coach, why is it that with all that beef they can't get them to follow directions? If you disect the problem we either have all but one of our OL that suck or the OL coach sucks. At this level I'd be looking for an OL coach that can patch things together. Where's Art Shell when you need him?

It seems to be assignment problems with these guys. Last week, on a running play, LJ got stuff behind the line when there was a clear hole to run through. Hell, he may have scored. But a LB went right up the middle to tackle him in the backfield despite showing that he was blitzing right over the center's nose. The center decided it would be beter to double team the guard AWAY from the flow of the play even though Waters had him blocked fine and the LBwas right there. Just a chip would've done it, but it looked as if he didn't even see him.

I don't know the playbook, but my guess is because it's play action and they're trying to sell it as a run left. Seattle doesn't seem to bite at all, so we're left with more blockers than bodies to block. Note that Albert doesn't touch anyone on the play either, and ends up all the way down the line apparently in pursuit of 90.

I don't know that the injury was anyone in particular's fault.

Actually, the question was rhetorical, just to get a shot at Goff.

The actual point was the fact that McIntosh and Niswanger both were slow to come out of their stances and get after the block.

Getting out of their stances slow, for both of them, has been a consistent problem and a primary reason they are getting their asses whipped on a regular basis.

Maybe the OL needs to start taking steroids so they can develop a little of that roid rage needed to be a bad ass OL!

If Cassel comes back for the opening game of the season I hope they have shored up the blocking scheme and stuff to keep him from getting put down and out of the league.
