We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

It's not just the star levels and Rivals ratings that are depressing with these guys, but who we are beating out. Vandy was the only other SEC offer for Brown, and Tennessee for Wilson.

These guys are mainly sought after by the old C-USA schools.

Man, you guys are tough to please. Mizzou is just now beginning to make inroads in the southern states, which should be huge going forward. Getting these two is not trivial.

Both of those guys are actual recruits. I mean sure, they're '5 wins and no bowl out of the SEC' recruits when they're the top of your class, but at least we're back to where we were 10 years ago at this point. So that's progress.

They even have a couple of offers from teams that might make a 2nd tier bowl game.

This is progress, gentlemen. We've probably passed up Rice's recruiting class with these snags.

It annoys me when Mizzou can't land legit in state talent. This kid my daughter goes to school with has committed to Iowa(?!). He's a bad ass running back, but Ferentz apparently wants him at OLB.

Recruits are avoiding him like he's got the AIDS. That's really scary that he hasn't been able to recruit O-lineman who can block against FCS schools. It's BS getting manhandled like that against what's supposed to be inferior competition.

He doesn't have an offer from any of the locals (MU, ku, EMAW).

We are doing horrible in-state this year, but if you're talking about Aaron Mends, Mizzou never offered him or recruited him much at all. What is going to hurt is that there are three big time OT recruits in Missouri this year, plus Braden Smith across the state line, and we're going to whiff on all of them.

These two guys we just got from Georgia are both legit.
