Anybody have experience with Google-less Android?
Looking at moving away from Apple.

Right now, I'm drawn to the ecosystem but that ecosystem is changing, particularly when countries are starting to crack down on the App Store. It won't be long before iOS is a lot like Android OS in that regard and I just can't see paying the premium prices anymore, particularly for a PC.

I want to go straight Linux setup with F-Droid on a Samsung or OnePlus phone.

Anybody have experience? I don't have a Google account and I won't ever have a Google account.

I mostly use my phone and my PC for web browsing, email, messages, and music. I store almost all of my music local.

OP7P here. Probably the best phone I have ever owned. **** Samsung and their locked bootloader defaults. Sad you have to buy Chinese to get control over your phone. I'm hoping my phone lasts long enough until the Fairphone 4 (rumors it will be available in the US, but probably 2+ years out).

Recommend Firefox with the standard add-ons (noscript, ublock, better privacy, etc.) and AdAway.
