Broncos vs. Saints gamethread

God damn. Pioli should be fired just because Peyton Manning passed on us. That is reason enough. It's sad watching him with the Broncos.

I think Manning has definitely raised the level of play of those around him, but I think it's silly to suggest that he and he alone is the sole reason that both Thomas and Decker are playing well.

Those WRs may not be elite at this point, but they're both very good and they have great potential. I don't care if either of them is a better 'skill' player or better WR than Bowe or anyone else... I do believe they're not generically average.

Those two guys have a lot of talent and they're finally playing with a QB that knows how to get it out of them. If you put Eli or Brady on the Chiefs, those WRs would certainly play much better. Would they be better than Denver's WRs? I dunno, and it doesn't really matter - these guys are producing and playing very well. That's really all that does matter.

I can't recall the stat, but I think the Broncos are tied or leading the league with 20+ yard pass plays... Thomas is up there on the list with Decker not far behind. There's some dink and dunk, but there's an awful lot of long passes going for big gains too.

I can say this with 100% confidence, you can tell the Broncos brass so want to win and have a good solid plan.

Define "great"? You mean HOF potential or a few pro bowls?

I'm not saying that either of them are Calvin Johnson in the making... I'd be happy with Rod Smith and Ed McCaffery Part Deux.

How bad would KC have to be before you would admit that you've substantially over estimated their talent level? Would they need to get beat by a college team? A high school team? Because that's about the only way they could be proven to be much worse than we know them to be now.

And Thomas is the number three receiver statistically in the league now, with a bye. He's produced more yards than receivers with Rodgers throwing to them, or Brees or Rothlesburger or the other Manning. He's really good, even compared to people playing for other great qb's.

I have couple buddies that were athletes with DT at GT and I think highly of DT.

That being said, he will not be Rod Smith IMO. That guy (Smith) is excruciatingly underrated.

Decker has the chance to produce at similar levels of McCaffery and regardless of me being a Chiefs fan, I hope he can achieve it. Physically, he is very similar (little shorter) but I think that with Peyton, the Broncos have 2 very serviceable WRs that will likely plague the AFC if Peyton can produce for 4 more years.

Honestly...this is depressing.

D. Thomas is a better WR than Bowe I'm sorry guys. I know you guys think he is closer to Baldwin than Bowe but that guy produced with Tebow tossing him the rock.

He's very different from Smith. I don't think he will ever be as good technically as Smith. But he has a lot more physical talent.

I've already done that dumbass. That doesn't change the fact that Bowe is a damn talented reciever that has put up outstanding numbers in his career even with jack and shit behind center.

He'll surpass Smith at this rate, but who will he be when Peyton is gone?
