Bengals quarterback was recently interviewed on LA-based sports radio station (KLAC) and talked about living in Ohio and the upcoming USC-Ohio State college football matchup. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Just being in Ohio you gotta watch what you say with the old Ohio State-USC battle coming up, or do you just not give a (darn) and your going to say what you feel like saying?

Palmer: I don’t watch what I say. I cannot stand the Buckeyes and having to live in Ohio and hear those people talk about their team, it drives me absolutely nuts. We got Keith Rivers out there and we got Frostee Rucker, we finally got a couple other ‘SC guys. It’s amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I got to put up with being back there. I just can’t wait for two years from now when ‘SC comes to the ‘Shoe and I get to, hopefully have a home game that weekend and I can go out there and watch us pound on them on their own turf and kind of put all the talk to rest, because I’m really getting sick of it. I just can’t wait for this game to get here so they can come to the Coliseum and experience L.A. and get an old fashioned, Pac 10 butt-whooping and go back to the Big Ten.

So you’re a little excited about it?

Right on. The reason the Buckeyes are so popular in Columbus and throughout Ohio is because all of our other pro teams have been terrible. The Indians haven't won a world series in years, Reds not since 1990. Bengals and Browns have choked away several opportunities, the Blue Jackets suck. Thank God for LeBron, otherwise the Cavs would be a lottery team. People follow the Buckeyes in this state because they are winners. Just when the Bengals began to give the people of Ohio something to root for, Pollack breaks his neck, Thurman and Henry get suspended and Chad/Houshmanzadeh become babies looking for more money. I'm sure Mike Brown must be real happy about this, Bengals have become the 2nd most disfunctional team in the league.

What an awesome little gem, because the PAC-10 is just so dang tough.

. It's just Palmer's time of the month and he's just mad that Ohio State's has a better coach than he does.

What I really don't understand is why he doesn't like Jim Tressel. Seems like a nice enough guy to me.

If you are honestly going to tell me you wouldn't want Carson Palmer that is idiocy....

So the OSU fan is so offended now apparently Brodie Croyle is better than Carson Palmer, how amusing. Ah well this debate will get funnier when SC smacks em around.

Carson isn't a bad QB, but I'd expect him to have a little more respect for his fan base. He knows damn well that the majority of fans who root for the Bengals, also root for the Buckeyes. As far as the game goes, I expect it to be competitive. I'd wish we'd have these kind of games more often. Gives even the casual fan something to watch. I'd like to get some of those SEC powerhouses to play up north around December.

Are you being facetious in your statement that Ohio doesn't have any pro teams or am I not aware that Cincy and Cleveland moved out of the state?

If it was any program other than USC, yes I'd expect to go on the road and win with the amount of returning seniors we have. The problem is USC just reloads every year. The amount of talent that sits on USC's bench is ridiculous. With that being said, I do expect the Buckeyes to be competitive. I won't predict a victory, but it wouldn't surprise me. I have no idea how Booty's replacement will play.
