News from the world of FAX. Never a dull moment, but lots of dull personages. Not like around here, that's certain.

News Item Numero Uno. Spinal surgery scheduled for October 28th. If all goes well, I shall soon be able to return to the golf course and continue to pursue my lifelong dream of using a long stick to accelerate a tiny white ball straight through the brainpan of an unsuspecting millionaire.

News Item Numero Dos. I think releasing Pollard was a mistake. Sure, he whiffed on open field tackles like a loony asylum refugee on an overdose of Valium, but if somebody would have taken the time to coach him up a little ... you know, take better angles and keep his head up through his tackles, I think he could have gotten better. I have a feeling that there was more to his release than meets the eye. Like, for example, Haley didn't like his attitude. Still, he's Pollard under the bridge at this point. More evidence, I suppose, that Herm has a phenomenally keen eye for talent.

News Item Numero Tres. There are millions of giant, fat people in the world. Why can't we find one who can play right tackle?

News Item Numero Fouro. This is a biggie. I received a call from my publisher a few weeks ago. According to this madman, who himself was considerably fortunate to escape the Sixties with penis intact, one of my tunes has now been selected as a featured cut on an upcoming album being recorded this fall. The artist is extremely well known. I'm not going to say who it is in fear of causing bad Juju which, as you are well aware, is bad. Plus, anything can happen between now and then ... including, unfortunately, the artist finding another song they like better. Nonetheless, it looks good and, should the unthinkable happen and they cut my tune, I will let you guys know. Needless to say, I am very psyched (sp?) about the whole deal. I just started writing again a year or so ago after convincing the beautiful and witty Mrs. FAX that we were sufficiently secure financially to allow me to spend time at it. Women can be so funny about things sometimes.

News Item Numero Fiveskies. I have declared Mr. Baby Lee the winner of the Quibble Bowl. There isn't a trophy or plaque or some kind of crown or anything due to shortages in the Quibble Bowl budget. So, if he would be so kind as to weave a kind of wreath thing out of some shrubberies and wear it around for a week or so, that would be great.

Hope you all are doing well. I have a feeling that Haley is turning our team into a fighting force of fearsome and direful intentions. So long as the o-line doesn't pee down their legs on third and long, that is, we should see improvement. I'm very surprised that Hali is performing as well as he is at OLB. Very surprised. Vrable is worth his weight in gold. Hell, he was probably worth the 2nd all by himself.

Anyhow, take care guys. If I don't see you in the future, I'll see you in the pasture.

Thanks. Looks like he just wanted to pass along some good advice to Mr. CrazyHorse and took the shortcut. No harm, no foul.

It's really amazing how well Mr. CrazyHorse is coming along, though. He's one tough customer and medical science is worthy of our awe. Not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of him. He's a stronger man than I.
