**Official MU Head Coach Search Thread**

Seems like this deserves its own thread. The news will start coming fast over the next week or two, IMO. Recruiting is a 365-day event and we can't afford to be rudderless for long.

My vote - Cuonzo Martin.

Discuss.

Something ironic to keep an eye on... Frank Martin LOOOOVES Miami... and it may be a dream job for him. Frank could leave KSU for Miami, in theory. The recruiting is solid down there and he has tons of AAU connections in FL.

They wanted to fire that idiot down there because he's only been to the tournament once in 7 years and Alden hires him? There's no way that there weren't any better candidates.

Just fire Alden. What a ****ing travesty.

Talk about misreading a situation and then following it up with intense panic. Brutal. Absolutely ****ing brutal.

If we don't get frank Martin down here it would suck but just about anyone would be better than Haith...mizzou..welcome to our nightmare."
And I woke up this morning thinking I couldn't feel any worse about this hire.

Oh man, that is just brutal...and sounds exactly like Mike Anderson. So I guess we can expect more undisciplined basketball.

It appears Frank Haith will be the new head basketball coach at the University of Missouri.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations says Haith has agreed to leave Miami after seven seasons and take over as coach at Missouri.

Haith's deal with Missouri is not yet finalized and no contract has been signed.

The University Board of Trustees will meet tonight to approve the contract. Sources say a news conference will take place tomorrow.

Haith has two years left on his contract with Miami, worth a total of about $3 million. He has gone 129-101 in seven seasons with the Hurricanes.

and here is his record in conference:

2004–2005 Miami (FL) 7–9 T–6th NIT First Round
2005–2006 Miami (FL) 7–9 T–7th NIT Quarterfinals
2006–2007 Miami (FL) 4–12 12th
2007–2008 Miami (FL) 8–8 T–5th NCAA Second Round
2008–2009 Miami (FL) 7–9 T–7th NIT Second Round
2009–2010 Miami (FL) 4–12 12th
2010–2011 Miami (FL) 6–10 9th

highest ever finish is a tie for 5th....imo, good coaches find ways to compete in their conference, that's why Painter was such a home run....

and if this ends up with Martin going to Miami, it will be a double hammer blow for the quality of league....

That was exactly what I was thinking when I read it. They hired Mike Anderson back?

If Miami actually gave 2 shits about basketball, he would have been fired a few years ago. Mizzou won't be making the tournament anytime soon with this tool as the coach.
