Home and Auto Feng Shui: What is your opinion? - Page 3

I like watching those home shows on HGTV, and there's one now (less interesting than normal) about staging homes for sale.

First off, it's a 38th floor condo and it's got floor to ceiling windows that make up an entire large wall. It's a nice place, but there's no way I could live there. I'd always be petrified of tripping and falling through the windows to my death.

But that's not my point.

The owner brought in two stagers, one who does the work and the other who is a Feng Shui consultant. It's kind of funny, because she's vetoing stuff being proposed by the stager because of Feng Shui reasons. While I'm into home decorating, I can't get behind the Feng Shui stuff.

The "floaters" in Iowania only buy houses/buildings that face east, all kinds of goofy stuff. Most of them look like they're aspiring members of the Taliban, but the wealthy bastards try to assimilate.

They are a backwards people and do have bad health care.

Not to hijack but the Philippines has had and does have one of the most corrupt governments in the world. It definitely rivals Mexico, if not surpasses it.

Strictly from an economic standpoint, I think there's value in following the guidelines of feng shui in a case such as that. For potential buyers who care, they will be more likely to be impressed. Others probably won't be put off by it.

It just seems that it would broaden the market.

The wife is Filipino, though first generation American. No need for me to go. Her parents don't even want her visiting and they emigrated 40 years ago.

The only thing remotely close to feng shui that I'm concerned with is the chiefs arranging their defensive line into a position that will not allow people to run rampant on them.

I can see how having all elements in your home inspires a balance. I like having fire, water, earth, wind around me. Candles, a $20 rock fountain I think I got as a secret santa gift one year, plants, and ceiling fan. Not all that troublesome.

I can see how a red front door would inspire certain feelings in you... Running streams are always therapeutic. I don't necessarily think it's washing my evil problems away, but you'd have to be one ADHD having mother ****er to not be able to find simple peace in sitting by a stream.

Feng Sui is just taking common sense things and making it complicated. It's a great religion!
