Martinez has a no hitter through 5 innings. 51 pitches. Doesn't even look like he is even trying yet. Smooth and easy.

Should we be fortunate enough to sneak into the WC game (and sadly, it seems more and more likely that we'll get Bumgarner for our efforts), Martinez has to be the starter.

Which means Matheny will start Wainwright.

Bowman has looked pretty good here lately.

Second straight bases loaded jam he has worked his way out of without a run.

We would get the pick since he's been with us all year, yes.

Siegrist hasn't looked too sharp as of late, but there is the possibility of Lynn down the stretch and Weaver in the playoffs.

I was assuming that Siegriest's "dead arm" gets the rest and he will be back at full speed for the stretch run.

And JFC, if we somehow someway, need a 4th pitcher in a playoff series, **** Leake.

$90 million doesn't go as far as it used to, eh?

Goddamn...this team actually gave Mike Leake $90 million. What a remarkable piece of shit of a contract.

That trade has been salvaged; that said, it did absolutely nothing to help this team last year. Criticism is still valid,IMO.

well now in retrospect, what has changed from Last year to this year? Was his hip Not fully healed? It is now? We're the Cardinals told by the Indians and Moss that it was fully healed?

There is no way we resign Moss. Why? We have plenty of 1B. Bader and Piscotty can hold down the corner outfield positions long term.

We are going to make the qualifying offer but some other team will give him a 2-3 year deal worth more than the qualifying offer per year. We get a 1st rounder.

How much WAR did or will we get out of Moss? Plus a 1st rounder?

Um....name one that isn't named Brandon Moss.

We're done with this Adams experiment now, right? Another season of poor progress and injury. The kid isn't a major league starter. Holliday's worse than Moss...by a lot.

Bader's plate discipline numbers in minors aren't actually better than Grichuk's were and Grichuk was younger when he accumulated them (Grichuk actually struck out less often but also walked a little less). Bader's not the sure thing so many are projecting him as. DeJong's a utility player, IMO.

This team needs hitters desperately and there's a very good chance they at least make a strong effort to retain Moss. Perhaps someone out-bids them, but that doesn't mean they aren't going to be aggressive in trying to keep him.

The hitters on this team that might actually make a difference are still in the low minors, IMO.

But hey, that calculus changes somewhat once we wise up and bring on Yasiel Puig, who's .481 BA actually went UP to .500 yesterday...

im thinking Carp this year and next at 1b. Carp is not that good at 3b. He is good at 2b. But as long as Gyrko is smashing homers, you need him there. Carp looks to be able to pick balls at 1b pretty good. Next year you are bringing up Kelly to begin replacing Molina. Molina will play some 1b.

Moss is going to get big time money. Take the draft pick. Do we know for sure which Moss we would get? 2015 or 2016 Moss?

I'll yield to your analysis on Baders readiness. But everything I've read says he is a major league player in waiting.
