I'm not a Grbacker by any means, but you can't lay this one on Elvis... You gotta lay this EGG on the coaches and the dropped passes...

mikey, didn't get to see the game, huh? That's the only way I can rationalize you pinning this loss on Elvis...

One thing that stuck out to me in the box score was that Indy rushed more often and for more yards. Obviously we had to go to the passing game late while Indy ran the ball with their lead. Someone help me out, I was at work the whole time. Did we run the ball early? Was Indy's defense tougher than we thought? Is our running game worse than we thought? And why the hell does Bennett have more rushing attempts than everyone but Richardson for -4 yards?!
Oh, and what was this big super secret uniform change about? |

I don't pin the loss on Elvis, but mikey isn't too far off. Elvis made more bad passes as there were dropped passes. Granted, the dropped passes where right on the money, for the most part. Elvis is not the man to lead the Chiefs to the promise land.

Agreed Fly. He is really inconsistent, but I think that today was one of his worse games. Remember last year at San Diego for instance, or against TB's pass rush. He was terrible those days, but had several good days. Those throws he made to Lockett in the 4th quarter were brutal.....but several passes were dropped too. Overall he did OK. He threw some great passes, and deserves credit for hooking up with SlyMo with so little practice. That INT he threw was devastating, but the ball clearly slipped out of his hands. That could happen to anybody. It had no rotation and came out sideways, miles behind DA. He shouldn't have attempted to throw that pass, but it's easy to criticise from here.

Obviously, someone watched a different game than me. I know the Int return hurt, but all in all, I can't count how many first down passes were dropped. Even the Colt fans I was sharing the bar with admitted that if we'd have hung on to half of the drops, they'd have been playing catch-up.
There's no question that Elvis should have tossed that one out of bounds, but we had enough chances...DA's drop in the Endzone could have put us at 27-21 with four minutes to go. You've GOT to catch balls like that. ------------------ Misplaced Chiefs Fan Red and Gold on the Warpath Nightwolf Graphics |

You don't know squat. I am even more pumped about the season then ever. GB did not lose this game. The D and the recivers will correct the mistakes they made today. The Chiefs will go 11-5 this year. |

D Jay,
Indy's running game came on in the 4th quarter. Both teams had 43 yds on the ground at half time. Like last year, the run defense really began to stink late in the game...........very worrying to me. Bennett should be last in the rushing depth chart. This goes against what I have been saying in preseason, but this is the first action I have seen this year, and he is slow and one-dimensional to say the least. It was frustrating every time he got the ball. I thought our running game would be much better in this game than it was. We only had 74 yards which is terrible, I didn't think that Indy's run defense was that good. IMO Cloud deserved a few more carries (the ones given to Bennett). Even Moreau showed something on that 12 yard run up the middle. He can accelerate through traffic. |

It was obvious from the beginning that the game plan today was once again, protect Elvis...He only threw when it was unavoidable....We fell behind early because we were trying to run not throw, even though the Colts were stacking the line....Even with 8 men on the line, we were trying to run up the gut...

I belive that Cunningham should change his way and stick with the throwing offense. He wants to run the ball too much. The Chiefs a dangerous in the air (bad passes and dropped balls can be corrected).

Did anyone notice that Elvis was trying to go through his progressions and not locking on his receivers? You could tell he was trying. At least that's a start.
