Do you smoke cigarettes?

Just curious if anyone else smokes here. I smoke on and off (not addicted). Just bought some cigs at a store though.

Valid point, and yes you should quit for good, but smokers have a particularly noticeable smell to them, more so than most other aromas.
It’s a smell that’s hard to describe too, kind of a combination of halitosis and camp fire.

No offense meant but this is the kind of attitude I don’t get. I know a lot of ex-smokers that remember to the minute the last cigarette they had but I couldn’t honestly tell you when I quit. I’m sure it’s been over 10 years since I quit at least 2 years before my son was born and he’s now 8.
Of course for me, when I quit I was done with cigarettes and only smoked out of habit, that and I tried quitting cold turkey without any assistance and it was ugly until I got a cig again.

Do 20 pushups instead of that 1st cig in the morning, that'll wake your ass up. And yeah, I agree with the others, cold turkey is the way to go.

I enjoy black and milds when I'm drinking, and outside. so pretty much only on the weekend. Otherwise, no.

I loved smoking with my beer and coffee. Especially beer on the weekends. When I walk by people on their smoke break, I dont get distgusted, I want to join them.

But I'll never start again. I used to cough like crazy at night before going to sleep and in the morning. Now I don't cough at all. I smoked about a pack a day for 22 years. I just hope I quit in time.

I smoke and don't care for the smell of it now. A good cigar or pipe tobacco I think smell good. For whatever reason cigarette's just smell like smoke...

If you live in Missouri the cig tax will most likely go up this November.

Right now Missouri is ranked 50th on taxing smokes. Of course you could say that you will quit buying them when the tax hits.

More power to all of you that are wanting/trying to quit! I went 3 weeks on the patch, (w/ the e-cig, and an occasional cig to help along the way). But, alas, I'm smoking again. Yeah, I know.

It never ****ing fails that whenever I try to do something to better myself, someone or something annoys the shit out of me. I just have way too much stress right now. And, sadly, smoking is the only thing that calms my nerves.

I'm not going to give up and never try to quit again. I will try again. I just need things to calm down, people to do their ****ing jobs, a puppy to quit pissing and shitting on the floor, and the annoying idiots in my life to jump off of an aids bridge.

/sigh

If excuses are your excuse, you'll never quit.

Focus on YOU. Don't worry about all the extraneous bullshit we all deal with each day. Take a deep breath, walk away, say "**** it!" or whatever.

You can do this. I know you can. Dig deep and stop giving yourself an easy out.

Good luck!

A couple years a go i worked with this lady that wanted to quit. I felt she wasn't all in on it actually but kept encouraging her to just do it.

Finally she came in and said she is quiting, and she only had one smoke on the way to work. Come to find out she had 2 of the patches on her. Guess what she still went out on break and smoked. She said the patches didn't do a thing.

She did that for a few days and blamed the patches for not working.

Unbelievable. I had to give her a hard time after that.

I talked to this guy that was sent to a prison in Illinois for a year. Vandalia Correctional Center to be specific. He went in for stealing. (he was innocent of course) He said all kinds of people go in addicted to smokes, meth, crack, alcohol you name it. And their first few days and weeks are painful. Cold sweats and the like. Forced to quit with you new found friends witnessing it.

That might be a way to consider quitting them if you just can't quit them any other way, just saying.
