Anybody else watching this documentary? Lot's of the details are pretty sickening, but they do a good job telling the story.

I just have the finale left. It's one of the few series that I'm not able to binge watch. I needed at least a week of un****ing my head in between a couple of those episodes.

Yeah, I'm only 3 or so in. I started it a month or so ago and thought it was tough then. I just began watching again yesterday and it's difficult to process.

I think I'm ready for episode 5...haven't watched in a couple weeks. I agree that some decompression time is needed between episodes.

I'm just starting episode 4. So many people failed these girls (the church, the police) and the one who tried to stand up for them was murdered. This goes beyond disgusting.

It isn't often that a documentary brings me to tears, but this one has. I have a daughter getting ready to turn 14. The things that were done....just disgusting.

The offenses were obviously horrific, but it's the power wielded that was especially disturbing. Power over law enforcement, power to dictate laws, and even power over the parents of the victims. Fortunately, it seems like a lot of that shine has worn off over the years with the numerous allegations and scandals.

It isn't often that I'm brought to tears in any setting, but if I am, by something on a screen it's usually a documentary.

Part of that is because I'm more easily brought to tears through joy, and joy is easier to experience through reality. So sports documentaries, and documentaries about achievement are the top of the heap.

But even in the realm of sadness and loss, documentary carries the requisite immediacy to summon an emotional response that fiction rarely does [for me].

You've got me thinking, and I'll have to get back on documentaries that were particularly evocative for me.

The fact that police officers were involved is incredibly sickening. Sure, priests being involved is horrible. But, the police are supposed to stop the bad guys, not be the bad guys. These girls had NO ONE, especially after the one person they had was murdered.
