Yeah, it looks like the Royals did have a lot more doubleheaders back when they first started.
http://kcbbh.blogspot.com/2012/08/pa...bleheader.html In the 1972 season, they had 8 doubleheaders at home, and 7 of them were played on a Sunday. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/team...p?y=1972&t=KCA |

KC's Game 2 lineup is already out.
Same lineup as the first, except Kottaras in for Salvy, and Johnson in for Getz

Yes, that may have been what is called a twi-light doubleheader. I don't remember there being more than two or three doubleheaders being scheduled in any given season at Royals Stadium, but when the Royals did have one scheduled, it seemed to me that they favored twi-lighters. Those would start at something like 5:05.

Royals have ended a 10-game winning streak and a 7-game winning streak in the same week. So awesome.

Royals should be 4-0 on this road trip.

It's ridiculous to say that. That's like saying the Royals should be undefeated this year. Baseball is played on the thinnest of margins. You will lose heart-breakers over the course of the year. It is a part of the game.
