They are cheaper with more options then their rivals is my understanding. Same reason why ford is surging and chevy is lagging.
On that, what hapened to the huge chevy fan? Rex was it? Or was he a dupe or astroturfing for chevy. |

They make nice cars. Quality isn't a joke anymore.
They were brilliant with the Sonata, something more like a luxury car priced along side their competitors' boring "family cars" |

Kia’s new cars are great. They got the lead designer from Audi a few years back, and the difference is starting to pay off. I love the look of the new Optima

My wife has a Sonata. We test drove an Altima, Accord, and a Malibu. The Sonota had more to offer at a much lower price, and the warranty is good. I was skeptical at first but now I'm glad we purchased it.

I test-drove one last year. Its a lot bigger in person than it seems in pics, but is badass. Lots of power.
It was made to be a copy of the Infiniti G37.

Hyundai started turning around in the mid 90's when they came out with the "10 year 100,000" warranty stuff.
They have never really made anything that excited me though....Always been a Honda guy. |

That's because Hyundai makes a sweet car these days.
That's my exact vehicle, I've had it for about a month now. I got it with the limited trim package (w/ the leather and everything), the nav, the upgraded infinity sound system w/ the touchscreen interface (wow) and the 2.0 liter turbo. When you have all that shit added, they put a sport tuned suspension on it as well. All told, I got into that car for under $27,000 because Machens in Columbia was on some quest to be the #1 dealership in MO so they cut me a great deal on it. With 275 horses and 260 ft lbs of torque, that car is MFing fast. I had it up to 142 in Oklahoma and it had more to give. I was just passing a long row of cars so I put my foot in it for as long as it took to get around them. The whole time it was stable and felt planted. It started to growl a little at me around the 140 mph range but that was just physics at work. It corners on rails and the build quality is stellar. I was looking at that or the VW CC but you just get so much more care for the money that it's a no brainer. Even little things fall in Hyundai's favor. It's the only high-power turbo I found capable of running on 87 octane (CC requires 91). It gets better fuel economy because of the gasoline direct injection (though the GDI motors don't sound as good), it doesn't require synthetic oil like the VW does. It's just a very well engineered and thought out car. We'll see how well it holds up, but I've never enjoyed driving a car as much as I enjoy driving that one. The 'initial satisfaction' couldn't be higher for me. It's just a brilliant little car.

Chiming in with the others, I had a Hyundai Elantra as a rental car a while back and put about a thousand miles on it in a week. I was quite impressed.
