Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

His second season in 16 games he thre for 2,800 yards (LOL) 16 td 16 int season and they called it a hit....

That is 2 different things. Alex is mentally very tough. He can take adversity and trial. He can take the media hits he might get and won't to off the handle publicly or ruin the locker room. He could weather losing the first 3 or 4 games and not cave, just double down on film study and prep and workouts and come out swinging. He is no shrinking violet.

If you are talking about pocket presence against the pass rush, that is completely different. He often leaves a clean pocket under perceived pressure that isn't yet there. I don't know if that is from taking a beating his first few years or from taking a beating from early coaches about his play, or if he was that way in college. I have no clue.

Alex has great mental fortitude but that doesn't translate to pocket presence. Maybe Andy Reid will find the magic button, but I can't see it happening after 8 years.

It just doesn't add up.

These guys have to have a better plan in place than Alex Smith to fix the quarterback position in KC and give us hope on a championship sometime in the next ten years.
If they draft Geno, I'm callin g him the black lion.

That is news to me. More

I still can't get over Shaun Hill winning as many shootouts in 18 games with the 49ers as Alex did in 80. I mean, Alex played 32 games before he went noodle armed after wrecking his shoulder. That was back when he had zip.

Put it together.

You have Luck and RG with as many shootout victories in their 16-game rookie years as Alex does in 32 with the good arm.

You have Shaun Hill with as many shootout victories as Alex, playing in half the games.

You do the math. I'll do it. 2+2=4 baby.

Post shoulder surgery noodle arm, is he really going to be winning any shootouts? I mean, he is a far better QB now that Harbaugh bet into him footwork, looking off receivers, and keeping his lead knee bent.

Maybe Fat Andy will help Alex channel his inner Favre. Right. Fat Chance. Har ha ha ha ha ha.

When pigs fly.

Its from being a bad QB.

There is a reason why some are good and some are not. It mostly has to do with playing the game when things break down. This is Smith's greatest flaw.

If they are gonna roll with Alex Smith as the two year starter (which is somewhat obvious) then they are declaring themselves in win now mode.

If that's the case, trade back to 9 and get Revis and use the pick on a pass rusher.

Lets try to hold teams to 14 or less.

Get a WR in the third and sign a safety in free agency and fire up the BBQ.

It doesn't add up, and it's baffling as all ****. No "developmental" third round flyer is worth two shits in this draft. The "developmental" prospects are up top or very close to it. Something ain't right in River City...
