Chiefs Dwayne Bowe. Diva or Top 10 Wr? - Page 5

That was one of the hot topics on 810 this week. What say you? I think the guy is a legit top 5 WR in the NFL. Look at his numbers the last couple of years. When he gets the ball in space, he is almost impossible to tackle. Especially, one on one. Look at his numbers the last 15 months and he is no doubt in the conversation as best in the league. Just imagine if he had a qb that could consistently get him the ball or if we didn't wait til we were down 14 in the second quarter to get him involved. Think his jersey is my next Chiefs purchase.

No one has even answered the question that several people have asked yet. How is Bowe a diva?

He is a badass WR that is undoubtedly among the best in the league despite having a horrible quarterback.

But how is he a diva?

If you ever look at Matt Cassel off camera he's a goofy ****ing bastard. Jokes around all the time.

But people think he's this calm game manager who has shit under control all the time.

Meanwhile Dwayne Bowe is reported to go through a vigorous pre-game regimen to get himself ready to play on Sundays. He blocks like a freight train and owns faces when he catches the ball in space. All of his small hangups that he has stem from route running (which is still pretty damn good, it's just that's his weakest area as a WR. That and consistency in holding onto the catch).

But who's the goofy **** that's an egotistical asshole? Bowe is, of course!

He talks himself up and makes funny plays on his name. That and he made some dumb comments about bringing girls to the team hotel rooms or whatever. He's also worked his ass off to become 10 times the receiver he was when we drafted him.

What he hasn't done is throw his shitty QB or anyone else under the bus. Anyone who thinks DBowe is a diva can get go **** themselves. He has been the only thing worth watching on this team this year.

Second, the corner argument isn't valid. ANYONE that gets matched up against Revis gets shut down. Bowe has ****ing dominated Bailey before. It's just that everyone remembers Champ holding him without a catch during his big run last year in ONE game. In the game before that Bowe beat his ass like Champ owed him money. So it's a give and take. Bowe will get a chance to match up against some great corners this year, but I agree with the folks who say QB has a lot to do with what happens in those match ups. I mean, you put Bowe in Green Bay, New Orleans, or New England and people aren't asking if he's top 10 they are asking if he's the best guy in the league.

The drops thing? Big f'n deal. TO dropped a shit ton of balls in his career and was never sure handed. But he was always in the discussion for best WR in the league in his prime.
