49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

230 yards per game and 1.4 TDs per start. 264 yards and 1.7 including rushing.

And he also had more 7 throws over 20 yards despite starting less games. Clearly the 49ers coaching staff trusted him as a passer much more than Smith.

I'll take that for his first 7 NFL starts, mostly in hostile road venues like @Saints, @New England, @Seattle.


If you think holding the all time NFL rushing records for longest rushing TD by a QB in the playoffs, and longest rushing TD by a QB in the super bowl are stats of a game manager, then yes, Kaepernick is a game manager.

Where did you hear it was 2 #2 picks?

Well Reid must feel and I agree that Geno Smith isn't a franchise QB. He'll probably be someone you have to nurture along, and hope. I guess Reid didn't want to do that, so he went with a QB that can win now.

And Smith has proven he can win by? He did the same thing Mark Sanchez did for two years: Let your #1 defense and your top 5 running game carry you and stay out of the way.

Smith did have a good playoff win. However, outside of that one game, what is another time he's done anything like taht?


The fact that that one single game COULD be an outlier is a little scary IMO.
