Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Two more wins so we finish 8-8 instead of 6-10.

What I was told that the compensation coming back with Smith wasn't done. Now that could turn out to be nothing, and I don't expect a swap of second rounders, but I'd be shocked if they didn't get anything else from SF.
If we get a third back, that changes things for me...or the 49ers 2nd next year.

Yea that isn't happening. As I've stated before, the discussion of the compensation has to do with what triggers the jump from a third round pick, to a 2nd round pick next year. Meaning the exact performance required by Smith.

Sorry forgot Vick, too. I'd say Smith can between the 16th and 20th best QB.
Who'd you want for a QB?

Because Smith is probably as good as the Chiefs can do this year.

Worse. I would put Henne AND Gabbert above Cassell.

Not sure I'd go that far.

Gabbert is terrible and Henne isn't far behind.

I'll see if I can find that article with Alex and his deep ball stats. Again they are up there with the best, but again he hardly throws them. I'm curious to see if how does now that he probably will be throwing more than 25 attempts. He will have more chances to take with Reid.
He hardly throws them. So who cares what his % is?

Its like saying a guy is batting .400, but the only had 10 at bats.

No, I wouldn't take that. He didn't do ANYTHING special. The guy had ONE game over 230 yards
In the regular season, Kaep had 215 yards per game and 1.25 TDs a game...is he a game manager?
