The problem with Horton would be that he likely wouldn't want to stick around too long. He wants to be a head coach. He might stay in KC for 2 years or so. It just depends on if you want a short term guy, or a DC that might be here for 5-7 years.

You don't get coordinators to be there for that long. If they're good, they're gone.

You have to keep bringing up guys at skill spot coaches to replace them with the same philosophy.

We're pissed that we're bringing in a guy to be the OC who doesnt' have experience at it, yet some wanted to bring in Chip Kelly?

I can think of a few great DC that have stayed put with a winning team..Eagles, Steelers even the Packers...but it seems Horton does want that HC gig

IF...this team becomes successful, they'll soon be hemorrhaging asst. coaches anyway. It comes with the territory. So I've heard.
