I have been using Roboform (http://www.roboform.com/) for years, not sure if it is better than others because I never had need to switch.

If your computer develops a leak or gets a trojan/bot/keystroker on it you are hosed. Everything is owned by the hacker. Including your online accounts.
For the home user to protect their stuff from others I recommend disk encryption of the whole hard drive. Just make sure you have a way to reset the password within whatever software you use to do the encryption. If you don't want to encryt the whole hard drive get yourself a software encryption tool lik Mcaffee vault. A 256bit encryption place on your hatd drive. No hacker is going to spend the time to try to break 256bit encryption. Keep all your stuff you want to remain private in the vault. Just my two cents

I use password safe at work....it's not online, but I like it alot. I also use Norton's built in password tool, but I don't feel comfortable using it for everything...

In addition, LastPass encrypts everything on their server, so it's actually much more secure than basically any other means of saving passwords on your computer (e.g., saving them in the browser, putting them in a document, etc.). Overall, the best-case scenario is probably not to use anything to save passwords on your computer, but the fact of the matter is, if you get a really nasty trojan hack on your computer, you're hosed either way. |

I believe they have a similar deal called my1password or something, which is online based.
That's why I wondered.
