Absolutely.

But if they picked up the 1st down at the end they would have won that game...and they would have left no time on the clock.

So yeah, Mike Smith definitely needs to look in the mirror and they need to figure out their defense, no doubt. He needs to be a better coach. I don't understand how these teams don't have quality control coaches that are in charge of having these scenarios in place...

I just don't get how Madden players are better clock managers than real life NFL coaches. It's baffling.

Why would that rule of thumb apply in that situation? They run 5 yard outs ALL THE TIME to give a kicker a shorter FG or to give a QB a shorter distance for a hail mary. These plays don't take 5 seconds.

Put it like this, that last play took 6 seconds (Julio caught the ball with 2 seconds on the clock and clock expired when he fell). That was a play where Ryan took a 5 step drop and floated the ball 30 yards. A 5 yard out with a 3 step drop takes much less time.

The Seahawks did it last week http://espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?ga...13001&period=4

They threw a 6 yard pass that took 4 seconds and then threw the hail mary.
