It's about the fact that only 3 QBs over the age of 33 have won SBs.

You draft and develop your own, because those are the guys that have the potential to open windows for longer periods of time, and because teams don't traxde franchise calibre 29 year old QBs.

You missed one on my least favorite Chief QB's in Steve Bono. I'd choose every QB on your list ahead of him.

Albert has not yet touched his ceiling, and if and when he does, he will dominate
Albert entered the league at age 23 and quickly turned 24. He'll be 29 years old in November. The shelf life of most NFL offensive lineman is 4 years.

When will Albert reach this "magical" potential?

He only gave up one sack....that's impressive in a vacuum...even more impressive that he did so with Cassel and Quinn as his quarterbacks.

If he has even more upside to him than that, god bless him.

It's NOT impressive, nor are you addressing Milkman's claims.

He was protecting QB's that SHIT THEMSELVES.

Who the **** needs to rush QB's like Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn when sitting back in coverage will likely yield better results?

People that spew this shit act like he's been protecting Flacco or Brady or Manning: He's been protecting jackshit QB's.

Regardless, AGAIN, your post does absolutely NOTHING to further Milkman's claim that his better days are ahead of him. Again, I ask:

At what age does he become this "uber" left tackle?

Personally, I think Albert is in his prime right now. Probably 2-4 years of play left at a comparable level. He might improve a bit but I doubt it. I think he's reached his ceiling.

Now, that doesn't mean he won't produce better numbers not having Cassel. I think most expect our OL to produce better statistically without Matt. I just think that he's probably in his prime as a player and wouldn't really expect any significant changes/developments.

I have no problem with Albert. As KC left tackles go in my lifetime, he's below John Alt and Willie Roaf, but above Irv Eatman and John Tait. He's good enough to win a championship.

That said, if Reid and Dorsey want to ship him off before he hits 30 in 2014, so be it. If they think that a draftee can fill his shoes, more power to them. It's on them to perform, not me

I'd like to see Albert in KC but I won't shed a tear if a nearly 29 year old player is shipped out for a 2nd round pick. Denver just lost a stellar 29 year old and got nothing in return.

Only allowing 1 sack isn't impressive with guys like Cassel and Quinn as qb?

Get ahold of yourself, FFS.

He's a good run blocker and has developed into a good pass blocker, too.

I want more than just a 2013 2nd.

I'm also a greedy bastard when it comes to draft picks.

I just think Albert is asking for more than they are willing to pay him.

There were reports that KC wanted to sign both he and Bowe to long term deals...John Dorsey said they are talking to his agent about an extension, but is open to trading him to a team that will give him a BETTER long term contract.

The only reason to replace him is if his back issues don't look to disappear.

More speculation.

But then again, you want a 2014 first round draft choice from a soon to be 30 year old that hasn't reached his potential.

1 sack in 11 games for a 2-14 team does not equal 1 sack in 16 games for a playoff team, let alone a Super Bowl team.

If that were the case, teams would be doing hurdles to get Albert for a 2nd round draft choice.

As usual, you overestimate Chiefs players value.

He is in his prime physically, but he is just going into his 6th season playing the LT position.

The footwork and technique are still a little raw.

He'll reach his ceiling when those become second nature and natural for him.

Surly, you are aware of the fact that good QBs distribute the ball more efficiently, thus getting rid of it quicker.

I don't think he'll ever have the type of footwork you look for in a top 5 LT. I just don't think it's something he'll ever have.

I think he can overcome that and use technique and his other strengths to be a top 10 LT despite not having the quickest feet...
