If he does, it makes hiring a good OC easier.

And a good OC hire makes it easier to retain Lock for another year.

Timing makes both more challenging. Find the best OC mind you can, tell him to make a run at convincing Lock to stay.

Hard to say how this will affect Lock's status at this point but I don't think it's a death knell.

I expect Odom to stay in the Air Raid family, which allows the option for enough continuity to not change much.

I'd think Joe Jon Finley would get a look internally, as well as Ellarbee.

Externally, Graham Harrell is one of the more intriguing names to me.

Agree with all of this, including that Lock stays.

Hard to believe we led that game going into the 4th quarter.

Little surprising that's the direction UCF went.

As for replacements, is Sonny Dykes still out of work? Put 2 QBs in the NFL in 2 years, one of them #1 overall and having a fantastic year.

Looked like momentum was building towards that. His 2nd best offer was Michigan State, IMO, and if we can't go into Texas and take a recruit away from Michigan State, we're doing something wrong.

KJ Carta-Samuels is transferring from Washington as a grad student so he'll be able to play next year.

Austin's little brother. Seems likely that if Lock leaves, they'll give him a long look. Pretty big-time prospect in his own right heading to Washington but was never able to overtake Jake Browning.

Not sure he'd be worth sending out there as a SR over someone like Wilson that at least knows the system. I guess I'm supposed to pretend that Jack Lowary matters but whatever. Really, you're looking at several less than stellar options either way.

That's good new.....now if we can just make sure none of the receiving corps regresses this next year.

I like our Offense if all the pieces stay to play.....the front 4 could still be stout with Beckner staying and the addition of the Juco guy everyone is talking about. And if someone steps up to take Frazier's place.

What is scary is the back 7 on the defense.

Yeah we need the secondary to improve big time next season.

The linebackers improved as the season went on. Terez Hall was one of the best OLBs in the league, and Brandon Lee really came on late. Both seniors next year...I like Garrett but don't know if he's all that great.

But yeah hopefully Christian Holmes can provide a boost at CB and DeMarkus Acy, who improved some too the 2nd half of the year, hopefully can take another step. Sparks made a few plays the last few games, seems like he still needs to get alot stronger though.

What about safety? Sherrils & Wilson are gone. I'm guessing a combination of Hilton, Perkins, Prewett & Ulmer? Hopefully Perkins & Ulmer take a big step because I don't have too much faith in Hilton or Prewett...
