Did you prefer a move to the B10 or did you want to stay put in the BXII?

I wanted the B10. Easier travel, better cultural fit and easier path to consistently challenging for division titles.

The SEC is obviously a brutal path but the monetary gains are pretty remarkable and have led to massive improvements in facilities, etc... So it's hard to complain.

It's a damn sight better than staying in the Big IXII or whatever would've been.

Not really. We would've.

We got told no. By most accounts, Tom Osborne pretty much ****ed us and then threw us under the bus on the way out the door. Hard to know exactly how that shook out but with those moves and then OU's President going batshit insane for a moment, Mizzou didn't have the option of telling the SEC no and waiting for the BIG to change its mind.

Out of curiosity: does Taylor Powell have any chance of cracking the depth chart at QB?

I also preferred the Big X as well, largely due to the academic prestige of the member universities in the conference, and partly because I ****ing despise the Old South and the SEC is a constant reminder of that pox.

As a non-religious person, one of the things about the existence of Heaven and Hell that I would enjoy is Tom Osborne thinking that he's going to stroll through the pearly gates without incident only to find out that he's bound for an eternity of getting ass-****ed by demons. That man's entire professional life was hypocrisy.

I was Big 10 all the way. Just a better fit culturally. And would rather be associated with states other than the dumbest, fattest, and poorest in the US.

Absolutely had to go due to the Big 12 instability. Still sucks and changes the football profile a bit.

**** the Old South.

I mean, probably.

If Lock leaves, I may try to walk-on. I still have 5 years to play 4 and my arm only hurts if I try to throw it more than 20 yards. Given the competition in our present QB pool, I figure I should at least get a couple of reps with the 1s during the spring game.

Things do not look good if we don't snag another QB in this class. If Lock leaves, they look absolutely tragic. If he stays, hopefully we can get a guy that is highly enough regarded that we can put him in there as a true freshman in '19 after Lock plays out his SR season.

I don't trust any other QB on this roster to win a single conference game in their first 2 seasons.

We don't know if Powell is good or not. Being red-shirted isn't a bad sign. Lock was supposed to be a redshirt. This would have been Lock's sophomore season.

I like Wilson's speed, and he has good arm strength. Could be effective in a slightly more run-option focused version of the offense.

I think they end up with one more QB in this class; they targeted the JUCO QB from Last Chance U, who was an LSU commit out of HS. Forget his name, but he's a dual threat guy.

LSU commit gives him a little more name cache than he might deserve. LSU lost 2 or 3 big time QB recruits that they thought they had locked up as that signing period wound down and so they scrambled like crazy to find a halfway decent in-state option that wouldn't screw them at the last minute.

So they settled on Scott, who seemed pretty much resigned to the scrap bin there so he predictably transferred.

As for Wilson and Powell, I just start to get a little bile built up when I think about those slightly undersized dual threat quarterbacks with okay athleticism. They all start to look like Trent Hosick or Jimmy Dougherty.

I can't go back to Jimmy Dougherty man. I won't do it. They'll never take me alive...

Oh, I can't go back there, either. Berkstresser was a bit too close.

I think he's a lot better athlete than Dougherty (who wasn't a very good runner). Think he's way faster than Hosick, too.
