I'm the dumbest mother****er alive when it comes to cars. I can handle 4 bolts to change out an alternator though. Was O'Reilly's already closed or something?

I am sorry to hear it though, dude. Should've towed it to my house. We could've fixed it up for you tomorrow, and I'm cooking too much food for too few people. We would've been glad to have you.

I'm GUESSING alternator, went from running fine [for years] to dead battery in ~1.5 mi. New battery bought 09/12. Got a jump at first HWY exit [High Hill] started fine, just barely made it to the next exit [New Florence].

W/in that mi/mi&1/2, first running fine, then came off cruise, then went to L3, then lights dimming, then lights out, engine still running, coast stop and engine dies on stop.

O'Reilly's etc, long closed and many many miles from where I was [though, now back home, the alternator is under warranty, O'Reilly's is 1/2 mi away, and my home charger/regulator is on the job].

Sounds like an alternator to me. Now I'm bummed, man. I wish I could at least get you a plate of the food I'm making. I normally do Ham on Christmas but this year it just so happens we're doing a bird. You said no turkey, and that's just ****ing criminal to me on Christmas. I'm only cooking because it's the only way the 3 of us in my house are gonna eat tomorrow. Nothing is open out here.

I hope it's a Merry Christmas for you anyways. I am sorry to hear the bad luck...

Eh, toying with taking the train [3 miles to the metro, might gamble on making it with a charged battery]. Also, my cousin is leaving late [has to work early shift this morning]. May hop a ride with her.

Leftovers are still good eats.

Worst come to worst, fix it when O'Reilly's opens and show up later in the week.
