Bitch seems to be missing the point of a championship. It isn't to crown the theoretical best team. It's to crown the team who performed the best.

The 1991 Miami Hurricanes were the best team in college football at the end of the season. They would have been favored over any team in football. The problem is that they lost 2 early games, so they didn't have the best body of work.

TCU did not have a better body of work than Florida State. FSU had multiple wins against ranked teams, won 2 more games than TCU, and didn't lose a game all year. If they just played over their heads all year, then good for them. That's why the games are played. They did what TCU couldn't...they ran the table.

It was about 60/40 Gophers fans. Of course, they were all more than happy to leave Minnesota in January for Orlando, and they haven't played in a New Year's Day bowl game since 1968.
