Realistically, the Chiefs wont even sniff the playoffs this year.
I would save your pennies for another year or two, but thats just me. |

had sunday ticket one year. the wife bought it for me for Christmas or something. after the second week, we fought every sunday. she wanted me to go to her mothers, or to a show, or work in the f@cking yard, etc.
i decided, piss on it. so i usually just take a radio w/headset out to my deer blind in the woods, drink beer and listen to lenny say, "what did i just say about protecting the quarterback?" 15 times a game. i'm at peace w/nature and whatnot. sec

I would never ever do without Sunday Ticket. Ever.
So you paid your money to watch Herm's Chiefs, but do not want to watch the new regime? Makes sense.

I cancelled it for one year and missed it greatly.
I have called and threatened it in the past, in order to get SuperFan thrown in for free. |

Stream the games. THis is what I do every weekend. It's gotten pretty reliable too, especially if you have a good internet connection.

It's ridiculously overpriced, the games are far too laden with commercials, and the unholy alliance between the NFL and DTV is a blight upon us all, but the bottom line is I've invested too much in my big ass TV and HD setup to dump Sunday Ticket and be forced to watch my game on a the little TV in the corner of the bar that has no sound on because all the locals are watching the Bears on the main screen. Been there, done that, and it sucks ass.
They've got me. And they know it. And as long as I can afford it, they'll get my money. Doesn't stop me from hoping they all burn in hell, though. |

I'm facing the same question myself. I just got DTV, so now I'm debating whether to do the Ticket this year. I think I'll post a poll!

Me. I'd pay for it if I couldn't get Chiefs games. Plus you get the bonus of getting to watch what games you want to watch as opposed to what games the local network forces you to watch if now Chiefs game is on.
I had to pay for it only 1 year. Where I lived, it was either pay for it, or watch Bronco's games. Since then I have lived where Chiefs games are shown by the local stations. I tried to rationalize the cost of it by thinking if I and my wife went to a game at Arrowhead, the cost of two tickets, parking, consessions, gas to-and-fro for 1 game would about equal the cost of Sunday ticket to get all 16 games. |

Canceling the ticket now, after all these years of subscribing, would be like selling your stocks right after a crash. Sure, this year might not be a big year for wins, but it's the beginning of a new era and I for one don't want to miss it. Now, if there are economic hardships that's one thing. I had to forgo it last year for that reason. But if it's just a football thing, ya gotta stick with it.

In east Tennessee the only time I've ever been able to watch the Chiefs on local TV is when they play the Titans. So we got the Ticket first time 3 years ago. The next year we decided to forgo it and watch at a local sports bar-I was a friend of the owner, and he made sure that we were able to watch the game, even if we were two of the only three Chiefs fans in the entire area.
Turns out we spent about twice as much over the course of the season than if we'd just bought Sunday Ticket.

I would NEVER cancel my Sunday ticket. I live in Jersey and am a die-hard Chiefs fan. To me you are not a real fan if you cancel. We ride with the good and the bad. If anything you should keep it to watch the new regime work. Its the NFL, anything can happen and anyone can win each and every Sunday. Hell its almost un-patriotic of you to cancel and not support your team. Also we are two months away from training camp, we have plenty of cap room and a crafty GM who could make moves. Totally different team, totally different attitude. Keep the package and support your team.
I am excited as hell to watch them this year, more excited not to see Herm on the sidelines or CP in his black leather jacket on in the middle of 100 degree heat. I also think you want to watch Cassel develop into a real Franchise QB. Lastly, didnt your Mom teach you never to be a quitter? |
