He struggled in a few games and was historically awesome in others.

I am supremely confident that Andy Reid can take Geno Smith and make a full blown star out of him in the NFL.

I hope you are right if we take him. But it just seems the games in which he struggled were big games. I'm not gonna go back and check all of his game stats, but it just seems that way. And if that perception is right and cannot be corrected we will have a QB who will at best take us to annual frustration of 9-7 and one and done in the playoffs, without a chance to ever draft the one who can lead us further. I just wanna make sure how his mental make up is before I'm happy to take him. I think those Mooch/Chuckie little interviews with the QBs at the combine is a great insight into that.

Texas on the road in 2012.

Oklahoma on the road in 2012.

LSU on the road in 2011.

The 2012 Orange Bowl.

And you keep bringing up the Pinstipe Bowl suggesting that Geno shit the bed in that one without having the objectivity or insight to understand what went on in that game.

There were two highly ranked quarterbacks in that game. One was going against a top 10 Defense in Tackles For Loss team, the other was going against the 123rd ranked Pass Defense.

I think it's a great comparison of two QB's who've actually been mentioned as a potential #1 overall pick in the same weather conditions. (And yeah, someone recently mentioned Nassib as the guy the Chiefs will take #1.)

Here's the whole game so you can do your eval:

I'm curious to get your opinion on the two QB's in this specific game, especially since you've stated that Geno "struggling" in this game has adversely affected your opinion of him in terms of a potential pick for the Chiefs. (You yourself said you would "hold your nose" at the pick.)

Shit, man I had this game on DVR and I accidentally deleted it. After I heard all the comments here and on the other board I wasn't too heart broken that it was deleted. I hate to watch long video on my computer but I promise I will before now and the draft. Actually, I make that "ASAP." With the DVR it's just easier and faster to skip to the snaps involving his passes. And let's face it we are not concerned about his hand offs.

Also I used the term "holding my nose" not because I think Geno Smith stinks, but because I hate to do ANYTHING out of desperation. Geno is a very good college QB, but as of now we are not talking about a COLLEGE QB. If I'm the GM and I'm using the top pick of the draft on Geno Smith with only the data available so far I'm making a "desperation" pick.

Back to the video, I'll start watching it in portions right after the Super Bowl.

So, let's get this right...

You are whining about the "Geno supporters" going overboard defending him, but you state that you haven't checked stats, don't care to, probably haven't watched the games (because if you did, you'd see Geno making big throw after big throw into tight windows in an effort to keep his team in the game while not putting the ball into the defenses hands) and are just going off your minimalistic "perception?"

And you want to know why some of us get pissed about somebody knocking Geno? Especially when all they are going on is their minimalistic "perception" after not looking at anything?

Yeah...okay.

Frankie: "I don't like him because (insert some subjective, idiotic reason that doesn't correlate to his on-the-field performance over the past three years) and that's the basis for my post."

And you want to bitch about guys supporting Geno as the #1 pick when they put up stat after stat, game highlights after game highlights, positive draft profile after positive draft profile?

A little disengenuous, don't you think?

See now you are speculating. I have attached what I posted in a thread I started on another forum months ago and kept updating it. I think I might have even posted this chart here once, I just don't recall in what thread.

I'm not just a Youtube/only the Pinstripe Bowl game watcher either.

I've watched him a lot the last 2 years.

There's things that are concerning (as there is with every one this year), but I do like him the best after watching more of his games again.

The Texas Tech and Kansas State games were awful. The K-State game especially. Threw into coverage a ton, didn't look comfortable. I expect those games to be honest. However, when you come on here, and read some of this god damn Knowmo inspired posts, you would have thought those games were a figment of my imagination.

This started WEEKS ago.

I know you know me and I am not being disrespectful when I say you're looking at this without context.

Seriously, there was LEGITIMATE conversation going on. And then we got invaded.

Let me ask you this: you're not "all in" on Geno. How would you react if someone told you Matt Cassel is a better option than drafting a QB like Geno Smith?

How about this scenario?

Troll posts over and over in Geno thread about RG3.

Several people say "Geno isn't like RG3 at all". One poster goes on to say "Geno might actually be a better prospect at this point, don't know if RG3 can stay healthy."

Trolls new mantra is "all you guys think Geno is better than RG3".

This is the kind of stuff we've been subjected to dozens of times EVERY DAY.
