I have zero desire to see Revis in KC.
He's a drama queen who is always bitching about his contract and holding out and his play and health on the field don't match the financial risk. |

I'd rather trade the 2014 first to someone like the Saints and take BPA at 15. They don't need the pick as much as they need their head coach. That team is already stocked with talent and will be back to their winning ways this season. Its a reasonable gamble for NOLA to trade the 15th overall this year and hope the Chiefs still suck their way to another top 5 pick next year. We can swap thirds this year for their trouble.
Take Geno 1:1, and your choice of Austin, Warmack, Trufant, or maybe someone surprising slips and you grab him. Hopefully that's enough of a talent injection, along with a new coach to get us past 15th in next year's draft, making it a net win. If we build through the draft with a slow and steady approach, our in-house talent will be dead or gone by the time the new crop matters. Chiefs need a quick turnaround and building through the draft can work if we go early and often. I'm tired of 5 year plans that turn into 15 year plans. |

A 2-14 team should never, ever trade a future first. That's how you stay 2-14.

Its always been my opinion that a future pick, regardless of the round, has the real value of one round lower. I get what you are saying about a 2-14 team gambling with its future, but it isn't like picking high in the first year after year has worked either. We just continually suck and guys want to walk, or flame out before any of it matters.
I personally like the Dorsey hire, but dislike the Reid hire. I'm hedging that this front office isn't the front office of a 2-14 team and will make some worthwhile choices. You're correct, it's a big, stupid gamble but if it gives these guys the cushion they think they need to get a QB 1:1 this year, then I'd be all in. if that's on the table I could get down with that also. Guys haven't walked on us. We resigned most of the players we wanted save for one that we could unassigned if pioli had locked him up when he should have.

maybe not walked exclusively, but either we've traded them away or by the time we get them a supporting cast they are just not as useful anymore. I know I'm being impatient, but I'm just thinking about who our starting ILB/OLB, RB, etc will be in three years once we've accumulated talent at all the other positions. KC is always just mediocre, never really good at all positions at the same time.
