Mock Drafts From Around the Web

The picks for the Chiefs are quoted.

The NFL Draft Site

23. Kansas City (9-7)- Leon Hall, CB, Michigan

This is the steal of the draft so far, Hall is really talented, and widely considered the best corner in this draft, but reports are surfacing that Hall isn't very fast, so he could slip after the NFL Combine. The Chiefs really need a left tackle but there aren't any left on the draft boards worthy of this lofty draft spot.

2007 NFL Mock Draft

23. Kansas City Chiefs - Levi Brown, OT Penn State

Age is creeping up on the Chiefs offensive line, and Brown has the potential to be a very solid pass protector and is already a good run blocker.

Tuch's Blog

For years this franchise has been spoiled with outstanding offensive line play but those days have come to an end and with Willie Roaf retiring before last season and Will Shields set to ride into the sunset as well there are some major concerns up front. However it's highly unlikely that Levi Brown will still be available which means they will have to look in another direction so instead they opt for the true #1 wide receiver they have lacked for the last decade or so. Sidney Rice is still raw and inexperienced but he's loaded with potential and even though he will likely fall to the latter part of round one due to his lack of top speed he could very well end up being a steal for someone because he is a phenomenal talent. Offensive and defensive tackle will garner serious interest here as well and are probably bigger concerns but based on both value and need Rice is the best fit. He is not a sure thing but with his size, hands, ball skills, leaping ability and production in the SEC the potential rewards begin to outweigh the risks at this point.

The Playing Field

23. Kansas City- Dwayne Bowe WR LSU: Another guy who benefited from a great Senior Bowl. With Gonzalez getting up there in years, and the Chiefs never seeming to have a great WR, this picks seems perfect.

Draft Academy

23. Kansas City: Ted Ginn WR OSU. They can afford to take a flyer on Ginn here since they have two polished targets in Kennison and Gonzalez.

Sign On San Diego's Mock Draft

23. Kansas City - WR Dwayne Bowe, LSU, 6-2 220, 4.52 - They finally get their playmaker at wideout, and none too soon to relieve the pressure on their running game... Blalock could also be an option, but Bowe is a much better value...

Real GM Football

Kansas City Chiefs-Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina. I watched Rice play twice, and he was not open on exactly three plays. Great size, very good at creating space for himself and using his non-elite speed wisely. The Chiefs sorely need weapons at WR, where they currently have a should-be-#3 WR and spare parts.

One of many Scout.com drafts

Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas--This one could be one of the no-brainers of the draft. Willie Roaf retired during training camp and the Chiefs were convinced he would come back. He didn't. No team is more tied into its running back than the Chiefs. Larry Johnson set the NFL record for rushing attempts last year and it wasn't a fluke. Herm Edwards intends to run him until his legs break down, like what happened with Curtis Martin. He has a couple of years before this over-work will take its toll, but for now, strap him up, give him some bulls up front and let him run.

Most Valuable Network Draft

Kansas City - Dwayne Bowe (WR, LSU) - Hopefully the Chiefs address this problem on draft day

I'd rather have Omobi Okoye.

If there is any such thing as a "character guy" that automatically produces success on the football field, this guy is it.

Unfortunately, there is no way he's falling to us.
