But if you can get it for this year's 1st and 3rd, plus next year's 2nd, it's something you'd have to consider. There's not going to be a great QB candidate that slips to us in this year's draft, IMO. I like Locker and Kaepernick, but they're pretty damn risky either way and both of them would probably have a round worse grades most seasons.

Let's say you can get Jones this season and keep your first for next. You're now sitting in no worse a position to get a similarly talented QB in the 2012 draft.

Generally speaking I'm with you re: the value of the QB. But this draft just isn't shaping up as a good one to make a reach or a bold move at the QB position.
Next year the QB's look to be pretty stout. This *should be Cassel's make or break year, so drafting a stud WR makes sense. However, I'd rather pick up more picks for next year so we have the ammo to move around and grab Foles or make a trade that lucks us into Andrew Luck next year.

Since there's not anyone I see as a can't miss, or that will make our team way better, I'd much rather trade back and pick up a 2nd #1 next year than trade up, even for Julio Jones.

What if both WR's fell to Cleavland and the browns took Jones instead of Green? Would you still be down to trade up for Green?

I can't imagine Pioli would give up this season's 1st and next season's 1st day for the right to move up 11 spots. That's way too steep.
I thought the rumor is that we're moving up to Washington's spot at 6?

They aren't moving 15 spots back for anything less than 2 1sts.

They, or anyone else would be reeruned to do that.

Washington must think they can move back and still get the QB they want. So this would probably mean Shanny prefers Ponder to Locker?
