It's been a tough week planeteers.......

My wife, Carrie has been a fighting a cold for over 2 weeks and it put her in the hospital on Monday. As most of you know by her condition now, they don't like to mess around with her. But I'm pissed off, they should of never allowed her to go 2 weeks to do this. Then of all things, let her come home on Wednesday, IMHO, way too early. She is coughing, hacking away and extremely weak due to a lack of air supply.

But to complicate things, I was doing the house work for her @ 9:00 PM on Weds. night and developed chest pains. So here I go, up to the hospital to be checked out because the pain wasn't going away. After running test, blood work and all , they said I had an enlarged heart with fluids built up around it. They gave me a shot of something to draw the fluids off and at 2:00 am Thursday sent me to Madisonville Ky where my heart doctor was. They kept me all day Thursday to monitor and set me up for a cardiac catheterization to look around for today at 9:00 am.

The good news, it all went well and I am home now . The heart doctor was pleased and said the heart was strong, everything OK with the 2 arteries we knew had 50 % blockage. He did see 2 other arteries that in his opinion were somewhat weak , so he wants to keep a checkup on them.

He thinks my pains came from the recent change of medications, causing heartburn that is consistence with the pains of a mild heart attack. So now I get to see another doctor for a scope in the belly in the nest few weeks .

But please keep Carrie in your prayers, she wouldn't go back to the hospital while I was in hospital, acting like a mother hen and needing to be close to me. I'm home now so I am going to stay after her to take what meds she is suppose to take on time, like the doctor wants her to . Her lung blockage now is 90% on the left and 80% on the right. She doesn't have much lung capacity to breathe with, so getting out of breath is easy to accomplish, coughing takes her air level down to critical conditions.

I thanks all of you guys and dolls for all the previous prayers, and things that you have done, ( I know we have had a lot of new members who are not caught up on this , if you wish to know you can PM me ) I have always said that no matter how much at times we all disagree on this BB, there isn't a member on this BB that I wouldn't welcome with open arms at my home, at any time or even any place to visit .

Thanks !

Roy, best of luck to you guys, I know you've been dealing with so many issues for quite some time. I feel so bad for your wife. Seems like we're always tested, I guess that's just part of life.

If you were in Madisonville I guess you live in Western Kentucky. I have lots of family in and around Paducah. Do you live near there?

Dude, I don't know how you do it, and I hope I never have to go through with it. I remember how hard it was on my family when I had cancer 25 years ago.

Prayers to you, your wife and your family.

Roy, my Mom had an enlarged heart (CHF) and one of the 'over the counter' medicines that helps CHF patients is called 'Co-enzyme Q-10', or Co-Q10. Find it at any drug store, take 50-100mg a day. Can't hurt, should help.
Best of luck to both of you.

And I don't doubt for one second that you don't mean it with all your heart. You're one of the genuine good guys Roy. You have my thoughts, my prayers, and my hopes for a better tomorrow for you and all of yours. Even Jr. I'll talk with some of my contacts and see if I can't get a special visit to you from Rich Scanlon. Good luck buddy.
