Casey Printers signs with the Chiefs..

Casey Printers is headed to the NFL.

MOJO radio in Vancouver is reporting that Printers has signed a three-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Printers would not talk about financial terms of the deal.

Printers was the CFL MVP in 2004 when he threw for 5,088 yards with 35 touchdowns and only ten interceptions. He was also second on the team with 469 rushing yards and led the Lions with nine rushing touchdowns.

Despite struggling with shoulder and toe injuries in 2005 Printers managed to throw for 1,676 yards and nine touchdowns with six interceptions. He also ran for 336 yards on just 38 attempts for an average of 8.8 yards per carry to go along with two rushing touchdowns.
I'm a Canadian living up in Toronto, and I've watched this guy play the last few years on the B.C Lions. He's a great QB, and took B.C. to the finals agaisnt the Argos a few years ago. I was very surprised to hear the news, though as he was reportedly looking for a starting job in Miami and Detroit, and didn't want to sit on the bench. Obviously, he won't be starting here next year, but he must have been promised some kind of chance at the top spot after Green leaves (which should be after this year or the next). I guess he'll be our #2 QB next year, and he'd be definitely one of the best backups in the league.

I also wouldn't take much into those injury problems from last year. It was rumoured that late in the season last year the Lions were basically using it as a excuse not to put Printers in, even though he told the media and the team he was fine.

I'm guessing it's because they were paying Dickenson a lot more as they signed him in 2004 for 2 million but he got hurt giving the opportunity for Printers to play an entire season (he was only getting the league-minimum).The Argos also stopped Printers in the 2004 Grey Cup, that may have also had something to do with it.

Yeah, those CFL QB's really suck...
Like Theismann, and Joe Kapp, and Warren Moon, and Flutie...

Anybody's gotta be better than Todd Collins.

BTW, 2 million in the CFL is basically an "A-Rod" type of contract.
