No they didn't. Dickenson was out with a knee injury when Casey Printers had his MOP season. Then Printers was out with a shoulder injury when dickenson took his old job back and led the Lions to an 11-0 start in '05 before going down with a concussion in week 13. |

No. 3. Ricky Ray, a Shasta high and college product, leads the Edmonton Eskimos to the Canadian Football League’s pinnacle — a Grey Cup victory in a 38-35 overtime triumph over the Montreal Alouettes.
It is Eskimos’ second Grey Cup win in three years, with Ray at the helm for both. Last year, Ray was with the New York Jets in the NFL. However, after not seeing field action during the 2004 season, Ray asked and got his release from the Jets earlier this year and signed a deal to return to Edmonton. In the Grey Cup, Ray was named the game’s MVP after completing 34-of-44 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran in another score. His journey to CFL stardom began at Sacramento State. He was picked up by the 49ers in 2001 while working for Frito Lay.

Standing 6’2” tall and 216 pounds, Casey Printers is considered a gentle, sweet giant to those who have the pleasure of knowing him. From the ripe age of 9 years old, Casey has been trained to be a leader.
At age 12, Casey led his Pop Warner Football team, Dallas’ Oak Cliff Jets, to the National Championship from Dallas, Texas to San Francisco, California. A trip funded by future hall of famer and former Dallas Cowboy Wide Receiver Michael Irvin. Having been presented an opportunity at such an early age, Casey believes that God has completely orchestrated his life from the womb to his journey as a professional quarterback in the Canadian Football League. The 23-year old have earned much recognition for his on-the-field athletic ability, but he is careful not to credit himself for much of anything, but crediting the God who lives within him. From little league to high school to college and now to the professionals, Printers has always left his mark when given an opportunity. Casey is known for raising the bar with superstar attributes. He began setting and breaking records as a High School and College Quarterback. He lead his college team, the TCU Horn Frogs to three straight bowl games under Coach Dennis Franchione. After being overlooked during the 2002 National Football League Draft, Printers once again was faced with an opportunity. In 2004, Printers led Canadian Football League BC Lions to the Grey Cup, picking up the presitigious title of CFL Most Outstanding Player. Printers threw for 5,088 yards and 35 touchdown passes in his first season as a CFL starter; ran for 469 yards; scored nine touchdowns himself. In Casey’s own words, he reminds us and himself –that nothing is ever as good as it seems or as bad as it seems but in reality it falls right in the middle. COLLEGE 2002: Spent his senior year at Florida A&M, after playing the previous three years for Texas Christian University. Led the Rattlers to a 7-5 record in the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference, completing 123 of 218 passes for 1,517 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. Also rushed for three touchdowns. 2001: Completed 136 of 252 passes for 1,825 yards and 13 tds. Finished in third place on the Horned Frogs all-time passing yards list with 4,621 yards and 37 touchdowns. Passed for over 1,000 in three consecutive seasons. 2000: Finished fourth in the WAC in pass completion percentage, going 102 of 176 for 1,584 yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions. 1999: Named Freshman of the Year by the Dallas Morning News after earning MVP honors in the Mobile Bowl, when he completed 13 of 19 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown. Went 86-150 on the year for 1,213 yards and eight tds, and was named a third-team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News. PERSONAL Best words of advice Casey ever received were. Nothing is ever as good as it seems or as bad as it seems but in reality it falls right in the middle.\" Admires Warren Moon - his favourite QB. Notes his most memorable football moment as winning back to back conference championships while at TCU.

BC Lion management did not screw over Casey Printers. How do you start an injured QB ? Casey didn't take a snap during Training Camp or during the preseason because of turf toe and a mysterious shoulder injury, which apparently healed in the matter of a week, after DD went down with a concussion. Casey Printers is razzle-dazzle. He will not work in anything resembling the West Coast Offense. |

Casey Printers Joined the BC Lions in the CFL after he didn't get drafted by an NFL team.
In his first season, he sat on the bench as a backup all year, the Same year Dave Dickenson was signed to a big deal. Dave had made a name for himself playing with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL, then spent a couple years with the San Diego Chargers. At the end of that first year Dave Dickenson hurt his knee bad, Printers was pressed into action, but the team went out of the playoffs early. The next year, Dave started the first 3 games, but Printers had to come in and finish each one. After the 3rd game, Dave went for knee surgery, and the Starting job was Casey's. That's the year he threw over 5000 yards, 35td, 10int, and some great QB running yards for the CFL. At the end of the year, Dave Dickenson had recovered from his surgery, and though Casey had been voted MVP of the regular season, the Coach elected to start Dave in the championship game, which they lost. The following year (Last year) Casey started the season injured, and Dave went on a tear, throwing for 75% completion and a 120 efficiency through 12 games. In game 13, while trying to tackle a player who had intercepted a pass of his, he ended up with a concussion. Casey Printers finished the season, with the 3rd QB getting some minutes. The Lions lost in the Western final to the eventual champ Eskimos with Ricky Ray at the helm. Then he signed with you guys in his NFL Option year (If he doesn't sign an NFL contract, the Lions still own his rights) He is extremely mobile and tough to tackle, but the biggest difference between the CFL and NFL (though there are many) is the skill of the defensive players and tackling. He plays a lot like Michael Vick, turning a broken play into a 75 yard TD pass that no one saw coming. He's extremely athletic, though I feel he may not be smart enough to lead an NFL offense yet, but this guy has the potential. |
