What the hell is this chant everybody sings at games now?

For those that are musically literate, it goes E....G E D C.... B..... where the dots are long notes. I don't know how else to ****ing describe it. I don't know what it's called. I don't know what it's from. I don't know why the **** fans think it's good. And I don't know how to search for it to show you.

I noticed it at a college football game on TV maybe two or three years ago? I just assumed it was something stupid that Florida fans did, but now I've seen it in all manners of college sports. And as of this year I've seen it at NFL and NBA games.

It's dumb, it's annoying, and it has to stop. If the goal is to get the crowd into it so they make some noise, there are better ways to do that than a dumbass chant. If I were a visiting player on that home court/field and the fans started doing that, I'd laugh at them, call them dumbasses, and play even better and more motivated than I was to make them look like assholes.

Edit: Apparently my sources tell me this is what it is:

A few of the stadiums have started doing it, the Ravens did it a bunch last weekend. How drunk were you when you were watching that game?

Interesting though I had not heard Seven Nation Army at non soccer games. Don't actually hear it at soccer games often in the states. Seems big in South America.

Wasn't that the early game? I don't think I started drinking until later that afternoon. I must not be paying close enough attention to what's going on in the stadium.

It is better then them chanting the same stale ones from yesteryear.. Hell, as long as most of the stadium is doing it, then it is great.. Anything to excite fans..

Saying that.. I would love to see some RamJam..

They're chanting the guitar bass line.

Bring back the Gary Glitter song.

The royalties for playing his song can go to his abuse victims.

That is not how that works. He doesn't give up his rights to something he owns because of his crime.

They were doing it during the Orioles run to the playoffs, the connection is pretty obvious. I think it just melted over into the Ravens season.

I'm impressed with how quickly they got it going again after the play on the field cut it off. I really enjoy that about soccer crowds. I like interactive crowds. Canadians during the anthem ect. Part of what drew me to the Chiefs was the noise and sea of red, even at a young age.

The nature of football and baseball is so start and stop whereas soccer is continuous so it makes sense that its something that doesn't translate as much to places like MLB and NFL.
