The difference, I think, is Affleck was a star in Gigli. Pacino was a cameo... and I firmly believe he was doing his buddy Martin Brest a solid.

Sorry to slightly dampen the narrative, but Jim Jefferies said on Carolla the other day that 'Sugarman' toured Australia, New Zealand and a few other countries twice with Midnight Oil's World Tours in recent years before South Africa 'tracked him down in obscurity' for the documentary. Say he was not well known, but certainly known, on the international stage.
