so instead of just taking the money, he decides to push it to the side while opening up moves that the FO can make and he would still get paid. Doesn't make him a douche or a great guy.. just shows that he cares about his money and also cares about winning.

this happens more often than not for some teams

I don't fault him one bit...but don't think he's taking these "under market" deals without some under the table deal he knows he has with Kraft after he retires.

Perks of being a legend. Also probably cheating. But it hasn't happened yet, just realize, when he's a team adviser or employee after he retires, ...

Well it'll be a little fishy why a player "took less money" and then proceeds to get paid as a team legend after his playing career ends

I'm not saying that will happen, but if it does ... say he retires and then stays on as an "adviser" and gets $5M a year ... you think that's ok?

You pay market value for great players, especially QBs. Denver has an injury waiver on any guarantees should he re-injure the neck. It's a very team friendly deal. Is Manning making more than Brady? Appears to be the case, and that's what they paid him to get him to Denver.

Is it hamstringing them from putting a competitive team on the field and are they in cap hell in future years - no.
