Anyone interested just say the word and I'll take the lead on this and set it up.

I would be in, but I've lost my self imposed limit until after the first of the year.
I've played at Pokerstars...........the 3-7offsuit full house guys were busting me up on river draws. If I get time, away from work.......I'll try to figure out my fpf or whatever the hell that is. JSPchiefs has probably played more than I have. |

Can't we just go to pokerroom.com like you originally suggested? It's been awhile since I've played there but I think you can open a private table about anytime can't you? It's just a matter of the person who created the table letting the other people in.

Actually, I would prefer the tournament too. But, if all else fails we can bump heads the old fashioned way. By the hand.

id be down, i dont have that many ftf points or whatever, cuz I normally play pokerroom.com tourneys.
How about we set a date like Jan 7th or some shit. That way everyone has time to fund teh acct with a money order or check... not everyone wants to use CC?? Anyways. Im down, but we should plan it way in advance and perhaps make the message sticky. I look forward to taking your cash. |

man, my girlfriend just took me in head to head hold-em... that really rattles my confidence. That woman, I don't know how lucky one can get. She's a bless soul when it comes to random crap going her way. We went to a big jewerly store once, and they were having a drawing for a 250 dollar necklace, put your name in the bin and shop around, they will pull out the winner yada yada... out of I don't know, at least a few hundred names she wins the necklace. She comes back a week later to return the jewerly she bought and decided she didn't like, they are having the same raffle... and she wins AGAIN, so she has two 250 dollar necklaces lying around that she doesn't even really like.
Anyways, tonight I sit down and play with her for some interesting side bets, I get a straight king high... she gets a straight ace high on the same hand. I get pocket AA's and hit trip aces, she hits full house 8's over 3's. I hit Jacks and fours with rags on the board, she hits jacks and sixes on the river. Every time I got a bettin' hand she got one better, any of those hands are winning hands in head to head hold-em. I was disgusted.

Unless your girl is a good poker player I wouldn't let that bother you. Does she play rags often? Does she know outs and odds? If she does play rags all the time and she doesn't know outs and odds then she is still fresh and you keep getting bad beats. Don't worry though because it goes the other way to. I have been getting more than my fair share of bad beats lately. Here is one example: I play no limit touneys at one of the casinos in my town and you start off with 500 in chips and you get unlimited rebuys for the first hour. It is a small tourney of about 40 people. I'm taking down hand after hand and raking in the dough. Well it gets down to the final table and to the last 5 guys and I'm the chip leader. I play tight aggressive. I'm on the big blind and pick up pocket 33. Not a very good hand but I'm big blind and I figured I might get to see the flop for free, well I figured right. Out comes the flop: 9 of spades, 3 of clubs, 5 of diamonds. I think "beautiful" I picked up the set on the flop, now how do I go about suckering atleast one fool out of all his money. At the time the flop came there was still four of us in the hand and they all checked to me so I knew I needed to make a bet big enough to make one or two of them fold. I bet 2000. Two people fold so it worked. The last guy called so we get to see fourth street: Jack of spades. I see there are now two spades out on the board so I figured him for the flush draw. Keep in mind that the guy is basically holding nothing in his hand so he should have folded. Since I figured him for the flush draw I knew I had to make a move so he couldn't pick up his draw. I go all in he immediately calls. I'm thinking shit this guy has a higher set on the board. We flip our cards he has 8 4 of spades i'm thinking beautiful here comes the river 7 of spades. My head about exploded. I lose all but one of my chips to a bad beat. The one chip I have left puts me all in on the next hand because of the small blind. I get pocket cowboys I shit you not. Because it wasn't very much a couple of people called me I pick up a 3rd king on the board and sure enough once the river card comes out it's a heart to give this lady a flush. Back to back bad beats to kill me in that tourney. But hey that is poker. I came in 5th place if I would have atleast came in 4th I would have placed in the money for a hundred bucks. As much as those two bad beats made me sick to my stomach I'm still looking forward to my next game. Sorry for such a long post. |

heh wow, you got it worse then me.
And I'd like to say she's a bad player, but she's good. she plays her cards... she got five bucks for free from tigergaming.net won her first tourny ever so far she's turned it into around 30 bucks... she is good with cards.

oh, and I should add that 5 bucks to 30 isn't easy to do when you are playing nickel and dime blinds... that's a lot of consistant play.
