How are your grandparents these days?
Won't be long before one of mine finally kicks the bucket. Grandma I just had her knee replaced (took months of convincing). Grandpa I is in amazingly good health for being 86 and is probably the oldest busybody I've ever encountered. You want a bike fixed, he's your man.

Grandpa II has diabetes and nerve problems, and is an old sourpuss. He also lives with a horrible woman, Grandma II, who is avoiding my sister's wedding because she's not marrying a Jemimah's Witness. Grandma II is using Grandpa's health as an excuse.

I think I may have a grandfather remaining down in Texas but he was estranged from the family many years ago so nobody stays in touch. My maternal grandmother kicked last summer. She hung around about a decade longer than she wanted so it wasn't like everybody was in major grieve mode. It was a relief of sorts.

My father's parents died in the 80s (when I was a teen). I had seen them maybe 3 times in my life. My mother's father died before I was born and my mother's mother died not long after I was born (she never saw me).
