Selling blue meth -- his product -- without him being the one creating it. That's why Walt chooses to die in the AB's superlab. A last move towards ownership, towards shoring up some kind of legacy.


Funny too, how the police just walk over his body. They'll realize it is him soone enough, but he was too unrecognizable in the moment for him to register as THE Walter White to those cops. A small gesture away from tidyness that I appreciate.

Good ending, a little too tidy perhaps considering the history of the show. I thought the timing of the Lydia phone call was too convenient.

Great show, I'm gonna miss it.

Why would the head douchebag care that Walt saw Jesse as a slave? That part of the faceoff seemed awkward.

Todd mentioned forgetting her specifically while threatening Skyler, and he used Holly as the impetus to forget.

Walt learns of that after he attempts to poison her, but he also knows that she tried to have Mike killed to tie up loose ends, so after Walt offs the AB, what's to stop her from arranging a hit on his family?

Pretty much my thoughts as well.

Thought the "shoot me", "**** you do it yourself" and "I did it for myself, it made me feel alive" dialogue was a pretty neat addition to everything.

On a side-note; cheers to AMC for upping the bar a little and proving you don't need to be HBO or MGM to produce true quality.

That's a good point. Lydia is a potential threat to his family and a "loose end" that could haunt them after his passing.

I'm with you. It felt way too neat for Breaking Bad even though it was an enjoyable ending. And there was a lot of opportunity to make the ending "challenging." It's an odd feeling when a character dies, and the first thought that goes through my mind is "they let him off the hook." This story has a long line of people Walt has wronged, and in the end, he redeems himself and loses the least out of most of the main characters in the show.

She's a loose end and a potential danger to his family. She absolutely had to go.

I thought he went after Lydia to protect Jesse, tie up that loose end, so she wouldn't be the last one standing that could implicate Jesse. Part of his final plan to make amends for everything he had done to him. Just how I read his motive on it.

Maybe the lack of depth of his loss is part of the challenge the viewer could consider.

He was always going to die inside of a few months anyway. The only cops who deserved the bust are being dug out of a hole. He still dies knowing he'll never see his daughter grow up, his son despises him--literally wishing death upon him, and his wife has been ruined. That weighs on him. Even evil men can rightfully despair. His empire disintegrated and he lost 80% of his nut.

Walt can still be despicable and right wrongs, and that's what this episode attempted. He had motivation and rationale to do it.
