Geno Smith, why are people down on him

So I didn't get to see every single game that he played this year but did see most.

He not only seems to have all of the athleticism that you could want in a quarterback but also all of the intangibles in terms of leadership.

On the radio both stations keep talking about him not being in the same class as luck or RGIII , my question is why not???

Here is my reasoning: We all know what type of difference a good coaching staff makes and how it transitions to the players ae. matt cassel with charlie weis

WVA coaching staff is not very good, their offensive line was like Swiss cheese and their defense was possibly the bottom 5% in all of Division I football, putting him consistently in bad situations.

If he had been playing for Alabama, Florida, ND, etc etc people would be touting him like luck or RGIII

I didn't see anything this year from him that would make someone believe that he doesn’t have all of the tools to be an elite QB.

Just on the wrong college team to put his draft stock at #1

The most common dumbass complaint is "well hurrrr he ain't no Luck durrrrrr". There wouldn't have been many QB's taken the last decade if they went by that standard. Big Ben sure the **** wouldn't have been a 1st rounder.

lol remember when everyone hoped Geno would fall down some boards so that we could pick him up? All the way back when we thought we would get a #5-10 pick.

You know what's funny?

If the crazy should happen on Sunday - let's just say hypothetically that the Chiefs have the lead in the 4th quarter. Luck takes his team down the field to score and take the lead. Then his defense collapses, the Chiefs march down the field and kick the game-winning FG.

You know what those radio stations will be saying about Luck? "His defense let him down."

But when Geno had that SAME THING happen against Oklahoma? "Geno just isn't in the same class as Luck."

Hypocrisy just comes natural to human beings.

And in all fairness to 810 WHB, while most of their hosts will say Geno Smith is not Andrew Luck (it's true, he's not). Almost all of them will tell you that Geno Smith is absolutely worth the #1 pick and the Chiefs should take him.

I don't even think its just Geno. The stupid draftubators on ESPN & NFL network are still stuck in two years ago when teams really could set themselves back drafting a QB that high. In todays world of rookie slotting its stupid for a QB needy team to not take a QB in the first round.

Yup.

Today it's spend 22 mil on a QB, or spend 22 mil on an LB or OT we don't need.

Because they see he's black, and are 'not sold on him'. Or, they've seen 1 game and he might not have had a good game.

dude has great footwork and mobility; excellent deep ball/touch; smart as a whip; competitor. good size.
Maybe not as strong as an arm of Wilson, but I think he makes up for it with the attributes above. Guy is a pocket passer who happens to have the ability to get out and move if the pocket collapses.

my choice;
Geno
Wilson
