I'm just going to enjoy the victory, forget about the SF, SD, NE stretch, collect on my 3 free lunches next week from my wagers, and look forward to next week.

Agreed.
Hindsight is 20/20, but in hindsight a lot of people said we should use TRich at his natural position only, not as the featured back, myself included. With what he's shown the last two weeks, I 'm not so sure we need to go get any high priced halfback. TRich and Moreau should be the 2 back set all next year. In hindsight, a lot of people were calling for that line up too. Perhaps I have fallen into Peterson's web of locic. |

I'd still love a high priced free agent ala Dillon or Taylor. Hell, I'd even be set with a college stud like Deuce McAllister from Ol' Miss. However, living out here in AZ I've seen that top draft choices don't always pan out. Thomas Jones has been awful and is on the bench behind Micheal Pittman who is a very underrated back.
I'm stoked about TRich and knew he was a great back but I'd still take a TB so TRich could play Fullback. AZ |

Gotta agree with you on that one.
Think about this too. Even with this coaching staff, this team should be 11-5. I know every team got screwed sometimes during the season, but it just goes to show how tenuous success is in the NFL. 1. Offensive pass interference on Alexander in the Tenn game while in field goal range. Chiefs punt, Tenn eventually wins and KC gets a letter from the league office saying the refs blew the call. 2. The 'fumble' by Morris against Oakland. This one was close, but KC was in a position to score late in the game. Oakland gets the FG and the KC gets a letter form the league office saying the refs blew the call. 3. The ridiculous unsportsmanlike behavior penalty on TR in the San Diego game keeps KC out of the endzone in a defensive football game. Sandiego hits a prayer to win by a point and KC gets a letter from the league saying the refs blew the call. Is this homer poor sportsmanship? Yeah, but if KC wins just two of those three, a win in Atlanta next week would likley put us in the playoffs (this is assuming Indy loses one of the next two and the Jets lose at Baltimore in the final week, both very likely to happen). |

Gunther probably saved his job today, but their are no mixed emotions here. We swept the Donx and though I dislike the Raiders more, I am glad we won. The only thing I hope CP does is give him a playoff or gone edict, no BS about reevaluating him after the season. Of course, I have to think, even Gunther was trying to do that, this year. So if one year from now, we are out of the playoffs, we can blame Peterson alone.

Some added thoughts to mixed emotions:
Our running game was absolutly HORRIBLE all year. Is T-Rich the answer, mabey. But lets not use a good performance against two lousy defenses as an excuse not to pursue a legit RB in FA or draft. Also, these meaningless wins could be an excuse for more of the same terrible coaching and decision making next year. This team still needs an enema and its looking more and more like its not gonna happen. Hope I'm wrong. -------------------------------- Otter refusing to put on the rose colored glasses. <P> |
