My thoughts:

1. I have newfound respect for Earl Campbell.

2. Many of these hits would be penalized today (leading with the helmet, clotheslining, etc.)

3. Ouch...

neato. I remember most of those hits from the NFL VHS game way back when...not sure if anyone played it. I especially liked the clothesline QB sack and the Cambell run and head lower is one of the best. And bonus for no Theisman leg snapping footage.

Yes he was. Worse than paralyzing him, was never speakign to him, never apologizing. Nothing.

John Madden, while a terrible analyst, went to stayed with Stingley at the hospital, and was very active in reaching otu to him with his condolences, etc. A real man, as opposed to Tatum, who I sincerely hope rots in hell.

Pats RBs are great. Dillon steamrolled a Jets safety this past week. It was great. His stiff arm is unreal (nto that play, but on other plays).

That's what I was thinking as well.

Montana was only around 200 pounds ("only" by NFL standards) if I remember correctly. Even if you're pure muscle that's got to be like running into an oak tree at full speed.

The hits on the recievers when they were up for the catch were the most brutal.

Watching some of the hits its a wonder anybody stayed in the league more than a couple years. Those were some brutal collisions.
