Herm Edwards figured out pretty early on in this job that he needed to almost completely rebuild the Chiefs. And you don’t do that through free-agency.

TOTAL BS! Only AFTER the season was lost did he "get it." He and everyone else calling for a re-build backed into it and didn't have the stones to set the course from the beginning last season. And now, we're supposed to believe that those SAME people can get the re-build right???

How long have you been a Chiefs fan?

It was PAINFULLY obvious that Herm WANTED to play the young player LAST year, but that CARL dropped the hammer. Carl fought the rebuild, because he didn't want to spend his last years here not getting to his benchmark of 8-8.

I guess it's just coincidence that one of the first bits of news to come after the season was that Carl would be staying out of the personnel issues and leave them to Herm, Kuharich and the scouting department.

Uhh Yeah but then later was reported that he would be as involved as he ever has been.

Actually I think Chuck cook and the scouting department have done a nice job of finding talent in later rounds of the draft over the years.

Where the Chiefs have struggled is allowing the HC and coordinators such a strong voice in the early rounds.

Gunt might be the worst talent evaluator to ever get a say in who is drafted.

Lock that stupid MFer in the basement that weekend.

Totally agree with this statement. Our problem has been that we don't have a strict organizational structure that allows guys to do their job. Chuck Cook can be the greatest talent evaluator in the league, but if Carl has the authority to shoot him down at any time then the system isn't working properly.

I firmly believe that a team will find success if they hire smart people and let them do their jobs.

Source? Because this hasn't been a typical Carl Peterson offseason. He's working under strict orders from Clark, IMO.

Regardless, TEX is pointing in the wrong direction.

Have the Chiefs or CP ever made an actual statement that CP would have less involvement in player personnel? Seriously, I have read different versions of that here.

What is the actual truth?
