Actually, I would most likely agree with him.

At the time, we didn't have a quarterback. At the time, he requested to be traded. At the time and still now, draft picks meant more for the future than Tony's play did.

At the time, it would have been a good move. I'm not sure what pick(s) we would have gotten but the flip side is true as well. If Tony's play declined, you'd have been all over the "trade him while we could have" bandwagon.

If we didn't have Gonzalez, we still most likely would be scratching our heads about the QB position.

Yeah I still see this as TG's last year in KC. We are so far from a superbowl and at least 2-3 years from being a playoff contender. This team still lacks direction and still have injuries and holes galoure...

I can see him leaving at the end of the year, getting traded to a contender, it would be best for TG if he ever wants to sniff a superbowl...

If he wants to retire, or be traded, that is fine.. Its his right... I for one am glad he stayed, will be sad to see him leave, and would suck ass to see him in another uniform...

I wanted to trade him but for nothing less then a 1st.. I love tony as a player, and want to see him win a championship, that is the only reason why I would trade him..

He wont get traded after this year either, or retire. The Chiefs are starting to be competetive again and should be even better next year.

I'm not on one hand, and am on the other.

I was for trading him at the time. He's made it clear he doesn't intend to be here next year, and I thought a rebuilding team needed all of the rebuilding players(trade or draft pick) they could get. I also thought #88 deserved a chance at a playoff win.

Now, he's playing his ass off and I've enjoyed watching him the past 3-4 weeks as much as ever. He's putting on a show for a fan base that needs some reason to keep watching, and he's prooving he's got plenty left in the tank, which will bring up the value for the offseason trade which I believe he'll request and get.
