Chiefs have the #1 scoring defense in football after 5 weeks

We are only allowing 11.6 points per game...even more impressive is that the second place team is NE at 14 ppg. That's a sizable lead.

Some other rankings after 5 weeks...

1st in sacks
1st in passes defensed
1st in defensive touchdowns
1st in recovered fumbles
3rd in interceptions
7th in yards allowed per game
4th in pass yards allowed per game
21st in rush yards allowed per game (Philly game skewed this one)

Translation: the defense is killin it

And if he'd do that the first 3 quarters, like he should be doing, we'd be kicking the shit out of people.

Romo?

**** yeah he would be.

I was taking a shot at another certain qb who has the 2 overall defense and has lost 2.

B/c he almost always has a lead and is taking safe options.

Next thing you'll tell me is his numbers are good when he has a lead!

That's not necessarily true either. Basically every 4 quarter we've needed big drives and he absolutely hasn't played it safe. If he'd play the other 3 that way, we'd be in business.

You're being disingenuous

Again, there's a difference between having a lead and running out the clock and ABSOLUTELY needing points.

And we've absolutely needed points in 3 of our 5 games.

Again, you're being disingenuous here.

Let's play devil's advocate. People are saying Romo doesn't have a good defense.
Well, Alex doesn't have a good offense.

The OL has been below average this year. Our TE position has sucked ass too. Yes, Duck Dynasty has been a nice surprise, but I do give Alex Smith some props for helping that come to light.

Also don't think our #3 or #4 WR's are that good either. DMC is not a good WR.

If smith would play the entire game like he's played the 4 quarter of every game, I don't think there'd be any doubt that we could challenge Denver.

And romo has a good offense because of th things he does.

I don't put it all on Alex smith, but he does need to play better and he has improved week to week, which is encouraging. But if were gonna really contend, the offense has to get better and that starts with Alex.

To run out the clock, yes against Dallas.

But iirc, Alex had already led us on a drive for a td or fg to take the lead.

So far Alex is 6 for 19 throwing outside the numbers between 10 and 20 yards.

This is a key area for QB success in the NFL. You need to hit that area of the field consistently.

6 for 19 SUCKS.

And I'll tell you why.

MATT CASSEL was 31 for 53 in that 10-19 yard area in 2010.

He was 21 for 32 in 2011.

Even in 2012 he was 14 for 26.

We actually have had a very good TE situation.

Also, Smiths OL gives up pressure on 5% more of his drops, not an earth shattering difference.

Yep, cassel so better. We should have kept him.

I love giving you shit, but comparing Alex smith to cassel either shows you're trolling, or really how you don't know what you're watching.

And it's getting kind of old
