Chiefs have the #1 scoring defense in football after 5 weeks

We are only allowing 11.6 points per game...even more impressive is that the second place team is NE at 14 ppg. That's a sizable lead.

Some other rankings after 5 weeks...

1st in sacks
1st in passes defensed
1st in defensive touchdowns
1st in recovered fumbles
3rd in interceptions
7th in yards allowed per game
4th in pass yards allowed per game
21st in rush yards allowed per game (Philly game skewed this one)

Translation: the defense is killin it

No, doof. That's my point. Cassel SUCKED and even he could complete 2/3 of his passes in that area. That's why Bowe had good seasons with Matt. That area is Bowe's bread and butter.

I think it starts with the OL honestly. Jamaal has had no rushing lanes at all, which is why he's not doing so well in the rushing department this year.

Alex Smith had to take quick 3 step drops all game vs the Titans due to the OL not being trusted.

And he's throwing to Chad ****ing Hall. Seriously? Sorry, but AJ Jenkins and Chad Hall are scrubs who won't be here next year.

The OL has actually played well in the crucial moments. Look at Donald Stephenson last Sunday. He played solid football after making mistakes early. The OL creates wholes for Jamaal late int he game.

I think the OL also needs to start playing well throughout the game.

The ol definitely needs to continue to gel, which they have done, for sure.

But Alex is going to have to be better.

Again, **** drops. They don't matter.

You know who has to deal with drops?

EVERY ****ING WR and EVERY ****ING QB in the goddamn league.

Quit blaming a lack of offensive production on drops. They're a part of life, so ****ing deal with it.

Disagree. Maybe as blockers, and 2nd TE, but McGrath has filled in great, and Fasano did very well.

He's played like 2 games then got hurt.

As blockers, our tes are garbage McGrath included.

And in our situation, with our qb trying to become more aggressive and trust his wrs more, they absolutely matter.

I agree with the overall thought here, they happen. But in this situation, they are more troublesome.

I agree. Don't think he was alluding to TE blocking specifically though.

Clay, how does Fasano rate as a blocker. Saw him whiff a lot in preseason.

It's amazing. The only people shitting on a QB who is playing lights out in the 4th quarter with a shitty OL and a TE off the street are the Geno fans.
He's not doing Drew Brees type 50 yard bombs and you're crying. Wow

GTFO

Btw-Romo had a top 10 defense in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and guess what? He STILL choked. Why? Because that's who he is.
