I think we are going to rape Tennessee in the draft
EDIT: Thread title typo.
Bud Adams is 90, and knows he's got one foot in the grave. He is in "win-before-I-die" mode, and I really doubt there is a bigger "win-now" mode than that one. Look at his comments regarding FA: Quote:

Lest we forget, Bud Adams made his entire front office go after Peyton Manning in the early part of last year's FA period. By the time they were done most of the prime FA that could have actually helped the Titans last year were gone.
So yeah, we could basically take most of the Titan's draft picks. Bud Adams is just that bat s**t insane.

This is reeruned. They aren't giving up on Locker yet. If dude doesn't take a big step foward this year though than his time in TN may be up. Locker still has a long ways to go but it hasn't been the best situation for him so far between injuries, the oline playing like shit and ****ing chris palmer as OC.
Much more likely to be Cards or the Bills |

Hypothetically, what could we get from them for the pick?

The same way we raped SF by giving away the #34 pick in the draft for a backup QB that they were going to cut anyways.

Yeah, what Spott said.
Dorsey's been a mixed bag this season. The Bowe contract is brilliant, and I'm pretty good with what we're giving Schwartz, Robinson, and Fasano. Sean Smith's deal is good for a #2 CB, but the issue is if he plays like a starting CB or not. On the other hand you have the assraping we took from the Alex Smith trade. The Colquitt contract, while I don't really give a shit about it being overpriced because Colquitt is ****ing awesome, is a huge head scratcher. That's a lot of bank we're giving to a punter. Most of all, we not only got raped by San Fran on the Smith deal, but his comments before and after the combine about the QBs did a great job revealing our draft hand. Even if he doesn't like Geno, that's no reason to talk about that kind of stuff-- it destroys the trade down value. It's the exact same problem that failed to push through a Matt Cassel trade-- the mistiming of Chase Daniel. Oh, and then there's HIS overpriced contract. If it weren't for all these free agents we were signing, I think teams would laugh at us if we ever called them up about a trade down offer. I'm giving the guy a break, and I know this job is going to require a bit of a learning curve. But if he's still doing this shit and getting out-negotiated by teams in two or three seasons, then he has a problem. |
